hi. im hoping one of you stamp pro's out there can get me going in the right direction.

found some cool old stamps, not sure how to check what they should be worth/etc.

long story short - i don't know what im doing when it comes to stamps and i want to be sure im getting the most for my efforts if I decide to sell them.

there are tons of them, so I don't know which ones to take pics of to get a general idea of the collection (all will be photo'd eventually I suppose, but here's a tiny tiny handful to get started.)

do you think they are worth anything special, or just your usual old-stamp collection maybe worth a few bucks if I sell them all off in the sheet?

thanks for any tips, links, comments or general tomfoolery....

Many appear to be Charity Seals. The prominent seals in the first scan were issued by the American Legion, South Carolina State Department. The issue is Mosbaugh Catalog v1-80BK.07, issued in full sheet of 100 (10x10). It appears that the seals you have are only partial sheet.

The seals in scan #9, are American Legion National Issue. Mosbaugh Catalog v1-80A.09, issued in full sheets of 100 (10x10).

I would also classify seals in scans #3, and #4, as Charity Seals. At quick glance, they appear to be part of the 1955 AMVET Charity Seals in scan #10. Mosbaugh Catalog v1-140.09, issued in full sheets of 56 (7x8).

Scan #5 is classified as Jewish Charity Seals. The seals were issued by the American Federation for Polish Jews, Mosbaugh Catalog v5-4, issued 1940.

The seals in scan #6, are 1956 Christmas Seals, Green's Catalog v1-1956-1, issued in full sheets of 100 (10x10). The 1956 seals should be collected in se-tenant blocks of 4. http://www.prestoimages.net/store30/rd3571/3571_pd235711_1.jpg

Seals in scan #7, were issued by the National Foundation for Asthmatic Children, Tucson, AZ. Mosbaugh Catalog v9-1590.02, issued in sheets of 100 (10x10) in 1955.

Seals in scan #8, are Easter Seals. Mosbaugh Catalog v9A-27.00, issued in sheets of 100. http://www.prestoimages.net/store30/rd3571/3571_pd126075_1.jpg.

You should consider this as a lot of Charity Seals, Christmas Seals, Easter Seals, and other Seals.

Sell it all together. As to value? It is difficult to determine from what you have shown here. Good Luck!

bill - i can't thank you enough. I would have never found all of that info on my slow computer without feeding the squirrels mountain dew and asking them to run as fast as they can. ;p

I think the AMVETS one with the U.S. Flag is the best one.
