They called at 7:30 AM EST!!
Guess they wanted me to have enough time for this one day event!!

They called me about a week ago to discuss "lower listing fees".
I blasted them for the misleading phone call and was quick to point out that even though they are focusing on marketing "lower listing fees" the bottom line is that there is a huge increase in overall fees.
I also told them that I used to sell between 80-100K a year and now it is less than 10K, largely b/c of their fees. They obviously don't make as much money from me as they used to because of their changes.
I went on to blast them for protecting bidders and more importantly their shareholders.
She continued to try to market me their new system going as far as to suggest I receive a call from them to discuss how I can "utilize" eBay to its potential. I told her I utilized ebays potential 7 years ago. Now it is a downward spiral and is pushing me to selling through my own site.

We were out yesterday and when we got home there was a message from EBay.
I listened to the message and so wish I could have returned the call. It was on my other ID which I used to use just for buying but decided in January to try it for just one category of selling and it is coming along nicely.
The EBay caller told me that based on my Sales I would benefit from opening a Basic Store. They went on to tell me how having a Store would reduce my listing fees and on and on....
I opened the Basic Store on January 31st!! Gee...I've even got the Congratulations e-mail from EBay to prove it!
I think they have been trying to 'listen' to all the Seller's gripes about how EBay doesn't give a hoot about the Sellers and so they thought they would win Brownie points for having real people talk to us. In my opinion they have left it about 5 years too late.
By the way...I didn't know abut the sale until I read this!

How odd, less than five minutes after I wrote my last note, EBay called me again! This time on my main ID and a very nice young man wanted to explain to me the wonderful REDUCED costs of listing.
I told him I didn't need an explanation as I have followed every word on this since January 26th, I understand it and in no way will the costs be reduced for me.
If I had stayed a Basic Store on that ID I would be paying 42% more and if I upgraded to a Premium Store ( which I have) then golly gee my costs only go up by 33%, lucky me!
I told him that advertising the whole deal as Reduced Fees was totally misleading uless a person has an Anchor Store and that it was obvious that they only want big business.
Well, another day another 50 cents!

I not only got a 7:45 A.M. call, I got an 8:00 A.M. text message on my cell phone! Are they nuts or what? What's wrong with just an email?

7:30 a.m.!
Gosh, I feel better now about eBay waking us up at 8:15 a.m. and then giving us the "snooze alarm" feature by texting 20 minutes later.
It capped a rough night. We also got non-eBay scam calls at 5 a.m.
But no e-mail from eBay about it.

My call came about 7:45. They also call last week - I didn't pick up and never even listed to the message.

They also texted me, but I did not look at that since I do not have a plan with free texting.

merrie - The text didn't cost you anything. Even if it did, you'd be charged just because you got it whether you look at it or not. I have texting blocked, but still got eBay's. It stated FREE text message on my phone.

Got two calls and three text messages - may have been more but I opted out of text messages. I never gave them permission to text me. I wish I knew how to stop the stupid sales calls, I never take them

When I got home last night, I thought, OK, let list a few Auction items for the 50% discount. Guess what it was just at the same time for me to get my 5 free listings!!
Listed 2 things and went to bed!!
