In my automatic search for Idyllwild-related items on eBay, here comes a book whose title (at least) seems related.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380214433233

The seller has more than a million feedbacks.

The seller has NO details other than that the book is new and he has 10 copies.

It would be great to have an idea of the plot and perhaps how many pages, when printed, etc.

I attempted to ask the seller for further details but got the message that the seller is "not answering questions at this time."

Am I being unrealistic?

Perhaps you are shopping at the wrong site -

Try Amazon.com. The book is only $20.95 at Amazon, and there is a brief description.

http://www.amazon.com/Tahquitzs-Finger-Gathering-Storm-Edlour/dp/1935105094/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268357616&sr=1-1

This is just another reason to avoid the eBay shopping experience.

Isn't that Seller one of the BIG DIAMOND Sellers that EBay was so proud to have come on board?

I read down their list of terms and it seems to be a laundry list of what they will not do and what they are not responsible for!

I can't buy from them because I am in Canada and they don't want me as a customer anyway. Hmmmmm....Memo to me..Cross them off my Christmas list!

As Bill says, Amazon looks like a much better source for that book

Thanks, you two. I shall look into the book. It just seems to me that the seller here is a lazy coot--with so many sales that he/she doesn't need to care about customer service.

"Buy" was the first diamond seller. It is also a shopping portal http://www.buy.com/. I still don't understand why Buy needs eBay but I am sure the fee structure does not even remotely resemble ours. Buy's stuff seems overpriced to me but over a million people must have found something they wanted!

I don't pay any attention to seller information on books. I just Google the book name and find all the information I need. I figure just because they sell books does not mean they read them.

I recently bought a Targus wireless numeric keyboard from Buy. I found the price to be very reasonable compared to others. Unfortunately, the Targus website stated that the keyboard had a distance of 33 feet, but I think they meant 33 inches. The problem was that even at 33 inches it didn't work. I had to have it less than 8 inches away from the dongle. I returned it to Buy at no expense. They gave me a full refund, no questions asked. Their return service was top notch, unfortunately I can't say the same for Office Max... a whole other story.

I think you have to consider Buy like Target or Walmart websites. Little information, little service. Just click a few times, enter your info, and have it shipped to your door. Can you imagine if you had a giant warehouse with hundreds, if not thousands of employees filling orders, packing, and shipping... and try to answer questions about specific item, particularly a book.

The biggest problem in a situation like this is that many people will go to their local bookstore, put their knowledge and expertise into providing you the information you want, and then the customer walks out the door and buys it from Buy, Amazon, or some other big box bookstore warehouse. I hope more and more people start to realize why this is wrong and why their favorite bookstore, local hardware store, mom and pop shoe store, etc are disappearing. Americans need to get their heads out of their butts and wake up.

I guess my problem with this seller is this: Had he given more details on the book (just the basics) I may very well have bid on it rather than keep looking. As it is, he/she has lost a sale. Probably doesn't care at all, though.

the seller is likely a bunch of stockholders. buy.com is a huge company. i don't think anyone there cares.
