In my automatic search for Idyllwild-related items on eBay, here comes a book whose title (at least) seems related.

Thanks, you two. I shall look into the book. It just seems to me that the seller here is a lazy coot--with so many sales that he/she doesn't need to care about customer service.

"Buy" was the first diamond seller. It is also a shopping portal http://www.buy.com/. I still don't understand why Buy needs eBay but I am sure the fee structure does not even remotely resemble ours. Buy's stuff seems overpriced to me but over a million people must have found something they wanted!

I don't pay any attention to seller information on books. I just Google the book name and find all the information I need. I figure just because they sell books does not mean they read them.

I recently bought a Targus wireless numeric keyboard from Buy. I found the price to be very reasonable compared to others. Unfortunately, the Targus website stated that the keyboard had a distance of 33 feet, but I think they meant 33 inches. The problem was that even at 33 inches it didn't work. I had to have it less than 8 inches away from the dongle. I returned it to Buy at no expense. They gave me a full refund, no questions asked. Their return service was top notch, unfortunately I can't say the same for Office Max... a whole other story.
I think you have to consider Buy like Target or Walmart websites. Little information, little service. Just click a few times, enter your info, and have it shipped to your door. Can you imagine if you had a giant warehouse with hundreds, if not thousands of employees filling orders, packing, and shipping... and try to answer questions about specific item, particularly a book.
The biggest problem in a situation like this is that many people will go to their local bookstore, put their knowledge and expertise into providing you the information you want, and then the customer walks out the door and buys it from Buy, Amazon, or some other big box bookstore warehouse. I hope more and more people start to realize why this is wrong and why their favorite bookstore, local hardware store, mom and pop shoe store, etc are disappearing. Americans need to get their heads out of their butts and wake up.

I guess my problem with this seller is this: Had he given more details on the book (just the basics) I may very well have bid on it rather than keep looking. As it is, he/she has lost a sale. Probably doesn't care at all, though.
