Mfg'd by Whiting, pattern is Dresden (1896), most likely a berry spoon. Each manufacturer called their serving spoons differently.

Thank you so MUCH, Max40! You are a wonder. I'm surprised at the asking price for these, now, on eBay.
Do you have a book of silver marks? How did you come up with that so quickly? And, one more question, the berry spoon up for sale now is an inch or so shorter than mine; I'm wondering if I should describe it as a "large" berry spoon or just let it go.

Silver is now at 18 dollars per troy oz,you should weigh it and state its weight in title.

Not really a "wonder". I have a book on sterling flatware by Hagan. Gives makers marks, shows patterns and gives relative values. Unfortunately, it doesn't show all the different pieces in a particular pattern, so you still have to guess at the purpose of a particular piece.
