Bill, I list the odd thing here and there.

I moved out of the house and into my new office digs a couple of months ago, but nothing is ever that simple. I'm still finding stuff from the old Macy's jewelry business so I toss it up on eBay.

Also have some large and ostentatious chunks of sterling silver Southwestern jewelry I'm trying to unload.

But my regular stock? No way is that going back on eBay.

Fluff - if you ever run across another twisted/braided (can't remember what you called it) SS bracelet like I bought from you several years ago again, please let me know. I wore mine ALL the time for years and it just broke (just the link - easily repairable). I would love to have another.

Hi Neglus,

I vaguely remember that one, I think I called it a twisted link bracelet. Only ever had three or four, long gone now of course.

I loved silver jewelry but the industry has been destroyed by the Chinese. They're even faking Made in Italy chains. A decade ago Italian silver was a touchstone for quality.

I would urge anyone who's shopping for new sterling silver jewelry to take a magnet. Test the piece somewhere away from the clasp (which should have a little bit of steel in it). Even this isn't foolproof as the Chinese are known to plate copper with thin layers of silver and pass it off as sterling.

Fluff,
I told you long ago made in Italy jewelry cant be that cheap!
The Thai has been making less than 925 sterling silver jewelry for eons.
One jeweler imported his own silver jewlry from Thailand,he will go to Thailand every year and bring back a suit case full of ss 925 jewelry.
Well, one year he was caught by US Customs for not declaring the value of his jewelry, but he is spared,it turns out they are worth less,a lot less .
Even the Italians cant be trusted either with their gold jewelry!
Or the Egytian with their 22k gold cartouche,it is gold over silver.
