We received this note from a lady who won an auction of ours that closed on July 4th. I thought I would share it with you as it makes a change from some of the combative e-mails that some Sellers are receiving lately!
" Hello,
I have been out of town for about 5 days and bid on this prior to leaving. I am very old and must rely on my son to make the Pay Pal transaction. He is out of town and will return within a couple of days and will take care of this then. I hope you understand this and I appreciate your kind patience in this silly matter. Getting old is no fun. Even though I have money and credit, I cannot seem to grasp the steps to do Pay Pal. Many thanks. Best and Kindest Regards xxxxx"

Also better than the dead silence of some buyers who never email or never pay. I get at least 2 or 3 of those a month.
It's sweet that her son will help her out, but a paypal payment isn't hard to do - I bet she's just scared of it.

Cute note, I wonder how far past 70 she is?
That would give me a clue as to how many more years I have left to do stuff on my own!

Here's the latest update received yesterday evening:
"I feel so bad that my son won't get home until tomorrow evening...I thought it would be today, but I have just learned that something else has gone haywire and he has to fix it first. I thank you so much for being so patient and he will do it as soon as he gets here. Best Regards, XXXXX "

Looks like the sob story is quickly changing to basic BS. How long you want wait is up to you. I'm good guy so I might extend it 2-3 past the limit in my TOS which is 4 days.

I'm glad it worked out. I think if you are getting communication from a buyer regarding payment, you should be patient... up to a point. Fortunately, that point never arrived and you were paid as she promised.
I had someone email me this past week regarding a record they bought from me... $75 on a $2 thrift store find! they were traveling and paid when they arrived.

She lives with her son.
The item only sold for $8.50 and I don't worry about Seller Protection as the Canada Post 'Small Packet' rate does not have Signature or Tracking information.
If it didn't show up or was broken I would just send a refund.
In almost 9 years we have shipped all over the World, we have never had a parcel lost some a little delayed most notably to Hawaii.
I have never had an 'Item not Received' claim. The only negative we have ever received was from a very nasty lady in Arizona who expected her parcel to arrive in 3 days ( over the Christmas Season) and hit the big red button immediately.
If we do sell an item that is very expensive (which is rarely) then we ship by a different method.
I just try not to obsess about it and so far it's working for me. When it stops working for me then I will stop selling.
edited for typos!
