I just launched some auctions and noticed that some of the item numbers begin with "360..." and others begin with "220...". Normally, all the items numbers are sequential. Anyone know what's going on?

I have had two sets of number sequences on our items (all in the same category) for a couple of years now. Just eBay being eBay.

This is the first time this has happened to me. I launched all of the auctions at the same time through Vendio. Makes my recordkeeping a bit more time-consuming. Oh well...

I have had two sets of numbers for several years (ever since they increased the number of digits in the eBay numbers back in 2005). My numbers series just changed (this happens every once in awhile) from 32XXXXetc and 39xxxxxetc to 15xxetc and 16xxetc. Years ago (back in 2006 I think) I had these same number series. I file my cards by item number so it makes it lots of fun. I have no idea why....

On the sheets where I keep track of my auctions, rather than writing the whole multi-digit item number, I just write the common numbers at the top of the sheet and note the specific final 3 or 4 digits for each individual item. Having the different numbers makes life more difficult for me but, I guess in the whole scheme of life-altering experiences, this ranks towards the bottom. Since I've never noticed this before now, was just wondring if there was any rationale behind it. Maybe I'm asking too much for something rational from eBay actions...
