I never even knew there was Ebay Label printing. I have used Paypal Postage and it prints a label. Now we are to use Ebay label printing to access their insurance scheme?
Can someone clarify these changes coming this fall?
My head is spinning. Maybe my brain can't handle these changes anymore.

We've had eBay label printing for quite some time. Just go to My eBay, pick one of your sold items, click on the drop down menu where you can select different actions and choose "print label". It will take you to their print feature. It basically does the same thing as Paypal. It automatically charges your PP account... so basically there is little difference.
I've been using PP to print labels, but have also used eBay to do so. I just check it again to see if there are changes to it. I like the layout better than PP, but haven't used it in awhile. I will give it a shot tomorrow when I ship several items I have sold this weekend.
Don't stress... you may actually like it better too. Just remember that insurance doesn't guarantee payment by the insurance company. I think getting some assurances and guidelines to follow could make this a good thing... but only time will tell once it is implemented.

So. Ebay label printing does the postage calculations also? This is a bit ridiculous as Ebay and Paypal are the same company. Why not consolidate it all into one venue?
Thanks for your response.
I am trying to get back on the listing horse after a 3 week break. Launching 40 items today.

Well, I did as you said and clicked on "print shipping label" to the right of a sold item and I was directed to Paypal like I always am. I see no option for Ebay label printing without going through Paypal. Hmmmmmmm.

yes. it does it all. you just click "print label" from your "My Ebay" page.
Ebay has offered this service for quite some time, with the exception of Insurance. As time goes by, I am seeing Paypal moving more features to within eBay. This is probably to deflect many programs away from Paypal and make it strictly payment processing, hence lowering the overhead.
Keep in mind, many sellers accept other forms of payment besides Paypal. There is ProPay, Merchant processing, etc. Sellers can easily use eBay to sell, but may not be able to easily migrate the shipping process through paypal because they took payment through another means.

For me,the label is smaller coming from Ebay, half a page while Paypal label is larger.
Ebay has big plan for Paypal, keeping us away from dealing with Paypal direct such as filing dispute and printing labels are part of the plan.
