From our aunt's estate. I have some ideas as to what this green stone may be, but I need some expert advice, please. Greatly magnified for better viewing, of course. It's a 16" necklace.

I have a jadeite necklace with beads which look similar,but it is hard to tell from the picture,you need to lighten it.
best is to take it to a gemstone shop

Aventurine is known as Indian Jade,and many so called Jade jewelry are really made of aventurine.
Aventurine also is just as hard as jade so a scratch test would not work.
