I tried, tonight, to list a group of three books. Got a message it cannot be listed or modified, possible improper words. Jeez. Please tell me what you think.

Three wonderful books for the experienced homeowner, new brides, or people looking to sell their home! All are in like-new condition.

* CLUTTER'S LAST STAND, by Don Aslett, 276 pp. Aslett is America's #1 cleaning expert.

* HOW TO CLEAN PRACTICALLY ANYTHING, Consumer Reports, 226 pp.

* CLEAN YOUR HOUSE & EVERYTHING IN IT, by Chapman and Major. 159 pp.

All three books have extensive indexes to make for easy problem look-up!

Rather than "pp", try using "pages".

Hello,

Your referring to the eBay generic 240 message, which they throw up for a lot of different issues.

Doing an 'eBay Preview' will get you a more specific error message.

For the item I saw still in your pending section, the exact error from eBay states the following:

"Oops!

You can't use phrases such as "like new" in your title or description because the listing will show up in search results for new items, which would not be right since the item is used. Before listing this item, be sure to change your title and description to "slightly used", "refurbished", or other similar words that make it clear the item isn't new.

Make sure your listing follows our guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and your buying and selling privileges could be restricted.

For more information, see our search and browse manipulation policy or chat with an eBay Trust and Safety expert."
Regards,
Chris

Christopher, thanks so much!! It's been a while since I've had to be reminded of the "like-new" taboo. And from now on I'll look at the "Ebay preview," too. Never too old to learn, I guess.

Interesting, though, that one of the "condition" options is often "like new," which I've used when appropriate for a long time.

What's funny is that I thought it might have been the proximity of the words "experienced" and "brides," LOL. Really.

Helen: I've used "pp" for "pages" forever and never had a problem, but thanks for trying!

I put "new condition" without problems, so far anyway.

Well, Roadsmith it was a shot in the dark from my ignorant perspective.

Just one day without a new rules review is not advisable, I suppose.
