Now that retailers appear to be putting out Christmas items before Halloween, suppose it's too early to start Christmas sales here on eBay? What's your thinking?

I have rolled out Christmas gift packs this month in my online store. I am currently filling a category called the Gift Center.
Further, eBay has a 1 cent listing sale(Just 1¢ to list! October 9-15 ONLY) from 10/9- 10/15. One month listing will take you to 11/15, just right to catch the Christmas gift shopper. Only select categories are included in the promotion.
The details -
"Who's eligible?
From October 9 through October 15, 2010, sellers who list in the Fixed Price format in an eligible category, and have a 12-month detailed seller rating (DSR) of 4.5 or higher on all criteria, based on your Seller Dashboard, will pay just a 1¢ Insertion Fee per item listed. New sellers who don't yet have a DSR rating are also eligible. DSR rating criteria for this Promotion will be based on the previous 12 months. To see DSR ratings, sellers can go to their Seller Dashboard within My eBay. For more information on DSRs, click here. This Promotion applies to both eBay Store Sellers and Non-Store sellers.
When is it?
This promotion starts on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second on Saturday, October 9, 2010) and will end on Friday, October 15, 2010, at 23:59:59 PT (11:59 PM plus 59 seconds) (the "Promotional Period".

What are the fees?
During the Promotional Period, Insertion Fees for listings in Fixed Price format will be 1¢ per item listed on the U.S. site www.ebay.com, as reflected in the fee table below. Listings created prior to October 9, 2010, and scheduled to start during the Promotional Period will be eligible to receive the Promotional Rate.
Please note: For sellers listing with any tool other than the latest version of the Sell Your Item form (SYI 3.0), the Promotional Rate will not be shown during the listing process. Instead, the discount will be reflected in the "View Account Status" section in My eBay, as well as in your next invoice."

I recall after thansgiving dinner,folks will log on and start shopping for xmas,this has been the case in the 1990s,but then into 2000 it seems people would rather go to mall looking for bargains first.
