I have a collection of numerous pieces of pottery from the mid-20th century to contemporary modern. I know absolutely nothing about pottery and most signatures I cannot make out on the pieces. Some are signatures, some are marks, others no marks.

My concern is identification more than appraisals. I can generally determine values if I can id the pieces.

Any suggestions where or who I can turn to?

Could you maybe post a group shot of some pieces so we can get a better idea of what you have and can then point you in the right direction to get it all identified.

Kovels have a pretty good book on marks which I believe covers marks up until the 50's & 60's.
I have a copy of the book if you can post a photo of the marks - I'll see what I can do.
