My sister Jane (pixiamom) passed away very suddenly yesterday morning. She was very active on this board and the round table for several years and considered many of you her "friends". We are already missing her terribly.

Neglus...what a terrible shock and loss for your whole family.
As you know we had the pleasure of visiting with Jane and your Mom in Oregon each Spring for the past few years and enjoyed her wit, wonderful sense of humour and down-to-earth good sense. After our very first meeting we felt we had known her and your Mom forever. We looked forward to our visits with her so much.
Mike and I send our thoughts and love to you all.

My sincere condolences. I'm stunned and saddened. For me the two of you have been highlights of the Vendio community. Just the other day I was looking over some helpful tips I printed out and one of them was from Jane. Rutabaga

I'm sorry for yours and your family loss neglus.
If my memory serves me well I met Jane when Penny (Otteropp) came to Portland and visited our store. We had a photo taken of everyone.
My condolences.

I must say that I am a bit surprised that there is no message from anyone at Vendio, at one time there always was when something sad like this happened. Pixiamom was a long-time subscriber of Vendio.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Jane was really a special person. Penney - she really enjoyed your visits and Shaq, she told me all about their visit with you in Portland. She left us much too soon.

I know amber - I somehow am not ready to remove the link. I will someday. Am so mad that eBay closed everything down that way when notified of her death - now we can't even get into her account to see if anything needed attention and all of those 10,000 listings that she worked so hard on are gone. I just wanted to close store temporarily so she couldn't sell anything new until we decided what we wanted to do. I didn't know her password at the time. Vendio did the same thing without any notification from the family. The sad thing is that all of her customers won't know what happened and will think she was suspended!

That is so sad that eBay would do that. There should be a way for you to contact her customers, there must be some in the process of transactions. She must have many friends on eBay, and like you say, they will have no idea why she is no longer selling.
Is it worth calling eBay and ask if there is a way to at least put a message on her site.
I am so sorry for all you are going through. It is things like this that make thing even more difficult, and when you and the family are at the most sensative, these things just hurt.

I know that she shipped on Saturday so I refunded all payments that were received after Saturday and hopefully got all of them taken care of. She used eBay post sale management (I use Vendio) so once the eBay listings were removed, all the records were wiped out. I probably could get a customer email list using PayPal reports to notify everyone of the death but that is a daunting task. I wish eBay would just leave the storefront or even the "Me" page up for awhile without listings so we could explain to anyone who was looking for her.

neglus, you should call Ebay. It does not sound like an unreasonable request and I would hope someone could do that for me if it was necessary.

Neglus, what a difficult time and as usual eBay doesn't make it easy.
Just a thought....I was looking at my BidStart account today and notice that Jane's listings are all still there. They have obviously not synched with EBay yet depending on Jane's settings for that.
Can that be of any help to you?
If you look at her Unsold items there then it may help with knowing which postcards were sold on EBay although it won't help with e-mail addresses.
Penny
