An interested buyer is asking if we can accept a check instead of PPal. The auction states PayPal only, but I don't even know if the check thing is possible anymore.

By the way...she has excellent feedback from over 800 other purchases.

We can't put that fact in our tOS but checks are allowed if the customer asks. I would be a tiny bit suspicious of some one with 800 fbs and didn't have a PP account.

I have had many buyers ask to pay via check even when they have high fb. No problems, just wait for it to clear before shipping.

I've found that potential bidders that ask about other forms of payment don't usually win the item anyway.

I've found the buyers that ask questions about anything rarely buy. I think they are just bored.

A person with 800 feedbacks must have bought something from someone. I would accept their check and if the item wasn't over ten or twenty dollars I'd send the item before the check cleared.

Years ago I sold several low price items to a lady PHD living in an apt in Florida whose mother recently past away, she wrote a check and it bounced, but I shipped already.
It comes to 150 dollars, never again will I ship before check clears, and personal check is not welcome.
My bank also charged me $15 for rubber check!

I get maybe 1 or 2 requests a year and after checking feedback I go ahead and accept check. Have been lucky enough to never have a bounced check. I am so happy with a sale and never accept a check over $50.00.

You never know,a friend of mine works in a doctor's office and said patients will write $1.00 rubber check !
Sometimes, not that they intend to defraud but just overdraw their bank account, may be it is timing, may be it is ATM withdrawal.
Aint worth the penalty of $15-25 fee!
Larger amount may be worth our efforts if drawn on national banks where we can go to a branch and cash it in person!

only ever had one check bounce (long story). My bank waived the fee since I am a long time customer & I was able to retrieve the package from the PO, also loyalty.
The bank had told me automated that the check had cleared, but there was some miscommunication. I always waited for the check to clear.

I usually ask for a post office money order instead of a check when I get that question. Works well for me.

I have had buyers request that I accept their check instead of Paypal.
I always answer with, "I will accept a postal money order" if they don't wish to pay using paypal.

The postal money order is the best to have. However, from regular buyers I know well, I will accept sanscrit if they want to pay that way (:> Don
