Well today is the last day of my 3 month low Policy compliance for using "Anti-German Propaganda" in the title of two of my 15k listings. Couple things really chap my butt about the whole process, I have been selling on ebay for over 13 years without issue and there was no recourse just an email saying I would be downgraded in search because of my policy violations and my account would be suspended if I had any more violations. Yeah I called eBay and got that's the policy and pretty much got the suck it up cupcake. My sales were already down for the year and that pretty much put a nail in coffin for 2012. Meanwhile Mr. phone scammer is making thousands ripping people off. Maybe it's time to downgrade eBay as a selling venue. Any suggestions?

With 15 thousand items, you could very easily launch your own site, and continue to list a few items on eBay.

I know what you are saying and it does seem so unfair.
I think ebay should look at a seller's whole history not just a couple of months.
And boy when they lower you in the search - forget about it. No one will find you.

I got hit for a listing violation as well. 1 item. I haven't seen a hit in search, but most of the items I offer don't have tons of the same item... unless you simply search by words like "chair" or "plate" or "glass".

I have seen my fees skyrocket because I won't offer returns or 1 day shipping. The shipping isn't such a big deal, but the returns are.

I predict the new eBay policies will further their attempts to stifle costs on sellers. I am putting my chips on them requiring sellers to include free return shipping to qualify for the 20% discount... within 1 year, likely no later than the Fall update.

The benefit for me with these changes is that they will no longer affect our account, with of course the exception of fee hikes.

The decision is really yours. There is something liberating to have your own site... but with that does come its own headaches. You are still on the hook on those fraudulent payments, so check those policies and see what type of protection you will maintain. You are also susceptible to payment processors freezing your account. Rare, but it does happen.

What exactly is anti-German propaganda? Is it WWII vintage Allies propaganda and why is it prohibited?

I doubt Ebay will ask us to offer free return shipping, some sellers do only if they misrepresent the item.
Funny no one is returning any item these days,I do offer 14 days return with 7 1/2 % restocking fee.

Ebay started the policy because the German govt complained .
All I know is that anything but books which show a Swastika is removed from Ebay.
Is swastike pro or anti ?

Neither. Ironically, a swastika within Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. In Sanskrit, it literally means, "To Be Good" and in Western Cultures (up until the Nazi's used it) it was a symbol of good luck.

And then there is eBay.

The absurdity of it all is that the Nazi's, Hitler, and WW2 are important historical periods of politics, culture, and war. I find absolutely nothing wrong with people buying, selling, or collecting historical memorabilia. People should know and understand what once was a tragedy of humanity.

Before Ebay banned hateful German propaganda stuff to please the German govt, everyone was having a field day swapping old war stories past on by their fathers who served in WWII and fought in Germany.
They were selling memorabilia brought back by their father, many are of German origin, picked up in the tranches or dead/injured German soldiers.
There are also replicas made in Poland or East Germany.
You can still sell them on other sites, but most are not real.just cheap repros.
There are also military stuff from Russia,Japan and other countries, but German WWII stuff is the most sought after.
