I heard AMZN has arranged for mail drop off places to rent storage/mail boxes to AMZN customers ,all orders bought on AMZN would be delivered to such storage box and the customer can go and pick up these packages any hour, better than home delivery,USPS mail box .
The storage is big enought to hold large boxes.
I wonder if it wil come to EBAY as Ebay buyers also buy a lot online.
But then who would sign for signature confirmation?

I ordered an Apple TV and received it at one of these boxes. The package arrived 3 days ahead of time. The lockers are located inside of 7-11 convenience stores.
Delivery confirmation is done when Amazon sends you the notification with a key code that it has arrived and ready for pick up. Then you go to the location, enter the key code into the machine and the locker opens and you remove your package. Simple as that.

I imagine that is good enough for Amazon considering they send the email to you and then you go to the pick up location and have to enter the number into the machine for it to open the door. I can't imagine it being any different than getting a signature, plus 7-11 have security cameras. Much better security than Fed Ex leaving it on the porch.
Apple TV is great... however I am using it primarily to mirror my iMac and iPad.
The apps on ATV are more limited than my Sony DVD player's apps. I was just going through my Sony's DVD apps and was blown away by all the free shows and movies on there without paying any subscriptions. It comes with ACC news (sports coverage from my Alma Mater conference), Huffington Post News, and tons more, plus of course Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, YouTube, etc.
The mirroring on the ATV is really what I wanted. A friend comes over and we use his Comcast account to watch games on my TVs from time to time. The mirroring to watch On Demand including the HBO and ESPN.

That sounds great,I can get NBC,Neflix.AMzn,some outfit affiliated with Best buy but you have to pay per movie.
Also Crackle which is free if you are a Godzilla fan and they have a few good movies too like legend of the falls.
all on my WIFI tv I bought from Bestbuy.
How much do you have to pay to have a box at convenience store?
Now AMZN sent you a code so you can open your box,but there could be multiple packages in your box and what if you say I did not get one ?And that one happens to be a US$10K ROLEX,then what happens?

I think you are confusing it with something like a PO Box.
It is an electronic locker system owned by Amazon. It is digitally secured with a keypad. One locker per shipment. Your item doesn't share the locker with other items. Once you pick up your package, they will use that locker for another persons delivery. They will send them the locker number and a new key code to enter to pick up their item... and the cycle continues.
I believe the only shipments are items directly bought and shipped by Amazon. I do not believe fulfillment even qualifies.
If you receive the wrong thing or your box is empty, you have to contact Amazon like you would with anything else on your porch or at the doorbell. Claims are handles the same.
Though the shipping details showed it would arrive on January 3rd, it arrived on December 31.
