Saw this post on PS:

Looks like it is user based, not seller based. Meaning that only certain users see the new layout for your store. From what I see, I like the new look, but shouldn't we be warned of changes?

One comment was that the old look and colors looked amateur and I would agree. It was quite nauseating to look at the template choices and color schemes before. I'm a design wonk and like a clean look. That's just me though. I would like it if we had some control over layout style and full color schemes to match our logos. My listings look nice, but the store is awful thanks to eBay's design.

I am pretty disgusted with the changes at the moment as I am with almost everything that eBay has done over the past 4 years!

I presently have my Store in Vacation mode as we leave on Tuesday but in MS Explorer it shows how I spent many months and actually years of tweaking with Custom colours to match my logo. It also shows my large announcement that we are away and the date we return.

In Chrome it has been stripped of every colour...my logo is tiny and my Vacation notice is gone.

From the discussions I read it seems that each store can show in several different ways to people.

I did not use eBay pre-set themes but selected everything myself.

I find it interesting that they are stripping the Stores down to give a 'uniform' look right after they have just convinced some people to take a 1 year contract to pay for what they thought was their own and personalised Store!
I am so ready when I come home to try something else and just keep a small eBay presence.

Check mine out by going to otteropp and click on my Store and tell me what you see?

I found it Penny.

Here is what I see when I view your store on Firefox:

And here is what I see when I look at your items for sale:

One view shows 600+ items for sale and the other 0!!

It is changed on my view. I guess it is user by user.

Oh...Neglus, that is what I see also on Chrome. On Explorer it shows the way it is supposed to and also has my Vacation notice up.

The Link that Bill as posted is how it is supposed to be.

You shouldn't be able to see any items for Sale..it should show 0 as I hid them all from view on my Vacation settings.

There is a link on each page to 'Tell us what you think'.

I have gone in under my other ID to this ID and told them EXACTLY what I think. I have also found other Sellers whose Stores look like the awful one above and have clicked on the link and again told them what I think.

Other people have called Customer Service & been told a whole variety of things. As usual no-one in Customer Service has the 'right' answer, it all depends which Country & what time of day you call.

On the Auction Bytes letter there is an article about it and they show Screen shots that look totally different to mine...so who knows what eBay is doing...I just know that I am better off outta here for a month!! I am more upset over this than probably many of the other ghastly changes that they have made as I had grown accustomed to my hand picked colours that match my logo done by me.

Grrrr.....

Seeing something different?

In the coming weeks, as part of our on-going tests of new and better ways to buy and sell on eBay, you may run across some new features, including the look and feel for eBay Stores pages and inspiring collections of merchandise on the homepage. As with most tests, these will be limited to a small number of randomly selected users so it’s possible to see them sometimes but not always. If you have an eBay Store, rest assured the testing will not impact the visibility of your items—except to make them more prominent and attractive for any buyers in the test.

Thank you for being an important part of the eBay community.

Yep...I had seen that Announcement but REALLY...more prominent & attractive.

Well off to do some ironing & packing and try to forget that eBay exists for a month.

Maybe by the time we return in October, the CEO will have moved on to Microsoft as rumoured and a kinder gentler soul will have taken his place...you know...someone who appreciates the Sellers. A person who will split off Vintage from the Main site or even wave a wand & have them go back to just being 'a Venue'.

A girl can dream.....

Thanks everyone for checking it out for me.
