I kept checking to see if anyone else left this message but I guess no one else comes here anymore. We really had a great time back in the good ol' days and I wish anyone still around a happy new year and beyond.

I used to joke that I'd be the one to turn off the lights and I guess I am.
Thanks everyone for all the help and to the Vendio techs (if still around) for their help over the years. Vendio used to be cutting edge but now I see they aren't even a recommended third party provider.

I am slowly moving my inventory off of Vendio - just doesn't make sense to keep using the service. Ebays listing format is now easier than Vendio's and easier to revise. The recent category changes to the postcard listings were the final straw for me.

Stay well!

Thank you, Neglus. Even though mostly a lurker back in the day, I really enjoyed my water cooler breaks on this board and miss the activity. I still find Vendio an easier tool for listing and photo hosting, but who knows what I will decide in the future. Best of luck and Happy New Year to you.

wgonzales - I guess you might be the one to turn out the lights then, though who knows how long it will take me to strip the Vendio from my listings...don't want those ugly x's to appear where my images were.

I am so used to listing on Vendio, and I really like many of the features (like having full sized images in the description and being able to schedule launch times and being able to keep unsold listings for longer than 90 days). I really wanted to hold on to 20 years of searchable postcard scans as long as I could, but I've retired and I am not selling as much as I used to. It's just hard to justify the expense. But who knows,I might have a change of heart!

neglus, sorry to see you go after 20 years! Yes Vendio is still active and being developed. We have been quickly adding functionality around Handmade Sellers from Etsy and Amazon.

Can you share a bit more about what the postcard changes were that effected you?

EBay reduced the number of categories from hundreds down to just two. That resulted in me losing all of my item specifics on the Vendio relist page. (Invalid category clears the item specifics on Vendio)

I was able to do mass revisions on eBay, but there were still item specifics (ie whether a postcard had been posted, what era it's from, who the artist is, subject, city, region etc) that had to be done individually. I set about doing that for my nearly 2000 items on the market. Then I realized they would have to be done again when/if I relisted.
EBay has a little blue circle that fills in when a seller completes the required item specifics. If the circle isn't filled in, a seller knows that something is missing - very handy feature!

I end and relist items when items become stale (6 months). On eBay I can just end and then "sell similar". On Vendio, the original listing appears as unsold (despite all the revisions I made on eBay), so it's a much more laborious process.

There are other things that have changed that Vendio isn't quite "up" on. Neither was I until I started listing on eBay.
For example,on eBay I have the International shipping option for "international letter"; that option doesn't even appear on Vendio.

I realize postcards are just a small part of Vendio's business and these changes may not be top priority for you, but they are for me. Unfortunately.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback, and I am sorry for the trouble! When eBay changes their categories we do attempt to automatically map the old categories to the new categories. Unfortunately when the changes are extensive and the items specifics options no longer match up, it is often not possible to automatically map to the new settings.

It is also true that it is not possible to automatically copy revisions that are made through eBay directly to the data that is in your Vendio account. One option would be to delete the products that you want to update from Vendio and then do a re-import. The import will only import products that are not already in your Vendio account, and will import the products with whatever settings they currently have on eBay.

It looks like you are using the older version of our services. You might want to check out the newer version of our services to see if they will work better for you. Revisions that are made through eBay directly still won't be reflected in your Vendio account, but there are some fields that can be revised on eBay by making the changes in Vendio directly. I'm not sure if it will work for you, but it might be worth taking a look. Just sign up for the free 15 day trial with a new account and a new username. Then send us a message at [email protected] with your eBay ID. We will need to set the new account so that you can enter the eBay ID you are already using with your existing account.

Sorry again for the trouble, and please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help!

Best Regards,
Nate W.
