Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.

mybiddness - It's so hard to understand the 'why' of things that life brings our way. I'm got goose-bumps reading your post. I am so very sorry for your families loss. I hope all will find peace in their hearts soon.

There is no greater loss than losing a child. My deepest sympathies to you and your family & friends. Rejoice is knowing she is the newest angel.

What a sad story.
As a former EMT I can tell you horse riders should wear helmets and bicycle riders too.
Please insist on it even if your child is just using training wheels.
Mybiddiness : I know what you mean about the words feeling empty. At my fathers funeral they said all the right words but they sounded hollow at the time.It took a while to see the truth in them.
I believe every life has a reason no matter how short and in every passing there is a message. Someone will read your post or know her story and insist thier child wear a helmet and what would have been thier last day won't be.
My prayers go out to you, your niece and the girls family.

I know that this was an eye-opener for us as far as helmets. We'd become a little lax with my ten year old, but this caused us to stop and remember how important that rule is. It's a sad human trait that we all believe it can never happen to us.
