Pareau!
Your GIF isn't GIFing! Isn't the volcano going to do something?

Pareau,
OK, I get it. Your volcano gif is bored so there is no eruption.
Very nice...

The new volcano must not be bored, it's erupting all over the place.
Very nice...

Dang--my eight grade science project actually works!! How humiliating to have a volcano loving crafted from plaster of paris that just sorta sits there like a glob and doesn't emit even a whiff of ash. Ah--memories--thanks Pareau! And to top it off, I believe the winner that year had one of those lame electronic boards that you touch the right mineral picture to its name and it buzzed. Traumatized---I tell you---traumatized

Sorry, Pat, Barry's drinks were from the store, which was giving you a cookie. I just switched him to a setup from another site, which should solve the problem.

Some people have all the fun. Here in Oklahoma we only get tornados.
Yeah, I know you live in NYC, Pareau, but I read you probably got magma under your feet and one of these days it ain't gonna be so boring! You got a big Expedition to get out of Dodge in?

yorequest..how far under is that magma under NYC? I thought we all had some under us.... at different depths of course.Sometimes my feet get really hot.Does that mean the magma is getting closer? Should I be skeert???????

Rawbunzle: Don't recall the exact depth or location, just that there are several earthquake fault lines under New York city. Volcanos can appear anywhere seismic events occur (no surprise that the Pacific "Ring of Fire" follows fault lines).
Should you be 'skeered'? Nah. Worse things to worry about in the Big Apple, I should think. What with all the secret scientists living underneath in the subway tunnels and experimenting on huge roaches and.....wait a minute. I think that was just a movie. I could warn, "Run for the hills!!" But you might just get chased back into the city by a tornado {or a Toronado, full of Amish teenagers. Likkered up and just learning to drive the way the English do). Pardon me, too. Must be my medication kicking in.
Mr. Barris? Pass the bottle?

yorequest..Thank goodness,Pareau will be safe for awhile then! I live in Washington [the state] and am in that ring of fire.Can see Mt Rainier every day from my window! It doesn't scare me but I can tell you that tornadoes do! I can never live where there are tornadoes ,I think I must have tangled with one in a past life.
None of this explains my terribly hot feet though............

This all confirms my suspicions that RTers do like things that get hot and go boom. Jeanyu, my sister did the very same science project, with the same results. The next year she tackled a nonchemical scale model of Stonehenge, with much better results.
I'm glad you're enjoying the volcano, Rawbunzel, and hope you don't get skeert. It doesn't bother us here. A little magma under your feet, a little Magnum under the pillow--there's a sense of balance to it all. Besides, if NYC goes the way of Pompeii, it'll make the most fabulous city-as-museum in the universe. Everybody's welcome!

Hot feet. Hhmmmm. Thumbing through my "Home Medical Book For People Too Cheap To Seek The Real Thing" ( a ponderous tome with which I've more or less successfully treated many a friend or family member - O.K., mostly less). Do you wear sandals a lot? Do you have a big brother who likes to play practical jokes on you and does he have access to stick matches? No? Hhmmm. Thumbing some more. Here it is. Yep. Magma Cum Loud. Most certainly caused by living close to a volcano, albeit a 'quiet' one. I used to live in Lacey, Washington. Loved the view of Rainier. Loved the Pacific National Rain Forest. Wow. The Ferns big as VW's. Come to think of it I had hot feet when I lived up there, too. But I was 17 and I think I was pretty much hot all over and never paid much attention.

pareau, That cookie looks good! Did you make it yourself? I would be tittering with joy if I could have one too!
yorequest,Our mountains have hot mud not lava. Darn! I would give anything to see lava [except flying to Hawaii...do not fly .]
Does hot mud have the same effect on feet as hot magma? Or is it just hot mud on faces....... I am confusing myself now..Where is Barry with that wine???
Barry...Barry... where are you? Any of that wine left? Feel like sharing?

I'm in New York. Take the Metro North for an hour and your here.
I agree with Pareau;
A little magma under your feet, a little Magnum under the pillow--there's a sense of balance to it all.
This is life in New York...
I would like to put my own twist on Pareau's words, to make it a little more personal;
A little magma under your feet, a little Magnum under the pillow, several Magnums of Southern Comfort on the bar--there's a sense of balance to it all.
Thank you Pareau for letting me borrow your words and adding my own twist.

Rawbunzel, you hold on to your tittering and let's see if the Rev can't effect a miracle of cookie replication and turn that one chocolate chip into a plateful. And I should point out that Barry's slugging not wine, but one of the sweetest, highest-proof drinks made. It wouldn't be my first choice for washing down cookies, but if your liver and pancreas can take the hit, go for it. I guarantee you'll forget about your hot feet.
