KD - I think you're talking about two different issues.
If we [US] want anyone's personal info....we can use the link to look anyone up. Last I used it it only showed the buyers/sellers registered name, city and state....and then also sends them your infor.
BUT when one has completed an auction with another user....whether or not their FULL information is available depends on how the 'seller' has set up their individual EOA notice or preferred payment templet.
Some sellers have it set to show everything...some of their instructions just give their email address for contact to be made.
The EOA email that ebay sends the seller only had their ebay userid, their actual email address and their zip on it...so the process could begin.
There's no reason cf couldn't find out who this buyer was. No reason except he/she obviously doesn't choose to.

Well, yes and no. The person could have used a phoney name and address. It's done all the time as most of us know. That's how people who are booted off of eBay get back on. With free email addresses available everywhere, I'd think it would be quite easy.

Crowfarm, are you just pulling everyone's chain here or is this a true story? Because I'm in Canada, I doubt Twelve (from here) would pay me a visit, so I'm willing to help out if I can, but there's something weird about all of this. It's like you yelled out "my hair's on fire", then didn't say anything, almost like you're baiting us. Same stuff Twelve used to pull. Now this is your 3rd complaint about people here screwing with your auctions. What are we suppose to think???

cheryl - It's not a matter of yes and no.
All a seller has to do is fill out the contact ebay for...there's a list a mile long for what the complaint is...and there IS one there for auction interferrance. They even have a security dept that checks into these claims.
It's possible....it's just NOT being done...or we're NOT being made aware of it. It's a FALSE accusation until, it is PROVEN. IF it ever is. I suspect that's HIGHLY unlikely to happen.

Not only that...but once ebay doe check on the supposed buyer, twelve666 [or whatever the CLAIM was] IF that info. doesn't check out, say for not being able to make contact with new user...ebay would NARU the account and we could see that on the bidders history.
We haven't seen/heard that that's been done either.

Could it be possible that Ebay, Crow and all of us will have to wait the 30 day's required to file non-payment.. since the auctions were completed.. doesn't the buyer have a certain time period to make good.. Could be Crow has to wait for non-payment before filing any charges against this bidder?
By the way.. anyone who is that curious can always email Twelvepole personally and get his side of the story. His email address is right up there for all to see..
Someone mentioned that West Virginia was noted as the buyer's area.. I don't remember who said that or if it was on the Ebay site under his id... but just another bit of trivia...
Twelvepole is the name of a creek in West Virginia...

I remember it to be 30 days before I could file for refund of my fees.. but I think I only did that once or twice.. I could be wrong...
Coincidently... since I noticed twelves email addy here..had twelvepole2 @XXXXXX I punched in twelvepole2 on an ebay search... and voila.. I got a hit.. and wonders of wonders look at where the address is...hummm...but of course twelvepole2 email addy here doesn't necessarily mean that twelvepole2 on ebay are the same people...just a big fat coinkeedink..?

Anytime a sellers believes someone is 'messing' with their auctions...they don't have to wait ANY length of time to call and report it. CF could have emailed ebay immediately, on the form they provide, and reported this the moment cf saw the bid on the first auction.
And you're defending CF...once again...'maybe that's why he/she hasn't explained it'. He/she's been posting to other threads though and we've never seen CF be so quiet as he/she has been of late ....since asked to prove his/her accusation.

Maggie, if Twelve's email address is listed on Vendio, then anyone could access it. Also, many of us knew Twelve was from WV because of where he used to fish. This still doesn't mean it's Twelve from here. Is the email address on Vendio the same as the one Crowfarm got? Did she look into these things as much as you have?
