dbsnd, I think KRS is referring to the # in your post above.
I would ignore the email, unless he is willing to show you what the damage is , why should you be out of pocket. Take the neg. if you have to and explain what happened in your response to it. Good luck.

dbsnd - How did this buyer pay you? If they paid by PayPal and file a complaint that might put a hold on your PP account should the buyer complain to PP. If by check, has the check cleared? They might cancel payment on it. I'd want to know before I refund their money by sending them a MO.
If the buyer decides to file a complaint with ebay, I would think you'd be covered as your auction said 'as is'.
You sold this 'as is', so you could just stick to that. Buyer may not have a way of taking a picture of the damage to show you. Buyer could be looking for an excuse to get this item free, or for less than the bid amount. Then again...it could have gotten damaged in transit. When I sell, I require insurance on anything over a certain amount.
You might get more suggestions if you post this problem sale in Auction Watch - Ebay Outlook rather than here - in the Round Table. More might see it.
I wish you luck, whatever you decide to do.
If it were me, I'd ask them to return it to me, and *then* refund their money to them.
