I had read about this at the New York Times site - they've also got a slide show that is sombering to say the least.

Except in the title, where you've made your own biases known. He's not convicted as a criminal, yet that's what you call him; you, who has not served in any war.

Well I will say that like all news accounts, I and everyone else will make judgements. We don't always know the subject matter well. It was not my intention to offend. If I could change the title now, I would.

jamesoblivion,
If you'd like to start a new thread with a different title, I can lock this one with a link to the new one. Unfortunately, a thread title cannot be edited.
Just a suggestion since you seem unhappy with the title. It's up to you, just let me know what you'd like to do.

I have an idea, can I just start another one and then you womd this one? I think this is something worth discussing, but it wasn't my intention to rub salt into any wounds. Let me know please. If not, just lock this one up.

Such things happen in every war, everywhere, at any time. I, for one, could not pass judgement, leaving it to a Higher Power to deal with.
