Less than six months into his unusual presidency, George W. Bush has begun telling his followers that he is ready to “go back to Crawford” if he doesn’t get his way on his conservative policies.
"Now, less than six months into his four-year term, Bush is confronting his first legislative setbacks. But he's not looking for compromise with the Democrats who represent the party that arguably won the consent of the governed last November, nor is he interested in the political agenda that got the most votes. Bush is telling his supporters that it’s either his way or the highway. In this case, however, Bush says if he doesn’t get his way, he’s ready to take the highway back to Crawford".
Awww, such petulance.

Having a president quit, now that would be novel wouldn't it????
Guess someone had better chain him to the desk and point out to him, since he wanted it so badly, he'll just have to tuff it out!
Is this the place we can kick back, relax, and have fun! Share a story, tell a joke, write a poem, make a friend...???

From that same link:
“Meeting with Fletcher and his supporters at the White House … Bush appeared to draw a line in the sand when he indicated he always could return to Crawford, Tex., if the liberal health juggernaut grinds him down,” Novak wrote. [Washington Post, July 5, 2001]
Wonder if the democrates will call his bluff?
Now, if he does go "back to Crawford" if the "liberals" win, I will have to admit he is a man of integrity!
Of course it was later stated in that article they were presuming he meant when his current term was up! :

Does anyone really think Bush is running anything? The republicans I know personally doesnt think so either. That red and blue map is really interesting. Looks like all cities go heavy for the democrats which is good. And yes I will also buy dumbya a case of lonestar beer for his trip home. Lonestar is his favorite.

LOL! Thanks, jt, for that Bumber Snicker! It has made my day.
I sat there for a momnent and imagined what it would be like to put that bumber sticker on my car. I then realized how much vandalism it would get. So much for pulling a practical joke on the public.

From day one, I said: here goes a stupid little dude with a gigantic would-be Napoleon complex, but none of the right stuff...
Talk about arrogance!

Bonzo was a Chimpanzee that Starred in several old class B movies with Ronald Regan
Which one was in the lead role is a toss up

My favorite can't-believe-they-got-it-past-the-editor caption was in an article on chimps. There was a picture of Reagan standing next to Bonzo. The caption started: "Bonzo (right)..."

Actually, Bonzo's name wasn't Bonzo. The chimp appearing in the first Bonzo movie was named Tamba. Tamba won a Patsy Award for his appearance in the movie "My Friend Irma Goes West" in 1950. Sadly, shortly after doing a national tour to hype "Bedtime for Bonzo," Tamba was killed along with several other chimps in March 1951 when fire destroyed the compound they were kept in. He died of smoke inhalation.
A talent search was held shortly after the fire for a replacement. The winner was a 4 year-old chimp named Judy. Her name was changed to Tamba and she went on to co-star (3rd billing) in some Jungle Jim films as well as the second Bonzo film, "Bonzo Goes to College."
