"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House on Tuesday denied cutting a deal to gain Salvation Army support of the president's faith-based initiative in exchange for a regulation protecting some religious charities' practice of not hiring homosexuals."
That reminds me of Richard Prior of all things. I remember one joke he told about what to do if you're a male busy having sex in bed with a female and then your girlfriend or wife walks in and catches you red-handed on top of her. Richard encouraged us to "Deny it! Deny it! Deny it!" and then spread the bull-lony thick with honey on it to cover the scent.
Also in the news today was a short squib about the Christian Coalition is now proposing to try to pass a US Constitutional Amendment that would state that only a man and a woman could be married. I tried to find a link for the full story, but could not follow up on this one. What an interesting topic it would have made! I only use it to point out that there may be some truth to the above story and the Whitehouse is denying it because of how damaging it would be.
Quote from the article: "Our Founding Fathers never anticipated this," he added. "But we definitely need to take this to the people. That's what a constitutional amendment would be."end quote.

Thanks, Linda! Yes, I don't concider Fox to be any real news, but there's the article. Don't think for one second that I'm going to unlock the FoxNews channel from my TV, though.

Thanks, figmente, but it couldn't be true! Aren't there a lot of Republican voters who claim to be self-professed homosexuals-for-Republicans who voted for Bush? Do you expect me to believe that Bush would actually BETRAY his own constituency? Isn't this the Compassionate Conservatism? Isn't this the political part with a Moral Compass? Heck, even some homosexuals on AW bashed me because I stated that the Republican Party and the Christian Coalition was anti-homosexual! So, watch out -- Homosexuals For Bush will be hunting you down to convince YOU of the truth of the matter too!
Personally, I see it as just another betrayal of the Bush Administration and the GOP of their own voters. The really sad thing is, is that while Bush Supporters, homosexual or otherwise, may not post in here in defense of Bush and the GOP's policies, they'll turn right around and try to vote another Betrayer into office in 2004 to betray them some more. What words best fit that sort of … umm…. THINKING, I best leave to scholars and pundits alike.
