Bought this at an estate sale in a lot. It is a cam action hand tool with a metal cutting die on the end with return springs here is one installed in the hand vise and one pulled apart next to it. Not they have different angles at the point if the die. But to cut what?

Looks like some kind of a punch tool. Maybe for leather work? The one thats on the table could be used for putting holes in a belt.

It would probably cut leather OK but on the box it was in at says metal dies and the name implies metal cutting. It will cut a V shape out. It cuts form the back to the tip.

Being as a mitre cuts angles for wood, this must be used for angles on metal. Could be used for something like chrome trim on a car?

It's a nibbler for corners. A nibbler is a tool that takes small 'bites' along the edge of a piece, usually not more than 1/4" thick. At least mine only takes work that thick, but there may well be bigger ones. That one will go into inside corners (mitre corners) to chew. Always metal. There's better ways to do wood, and the chewing would compress the surrounding grain of wood.
Oh and..that one looks like it will do between 1/8" and 3/16" just judging from the picture.

Sounds great - I know it is really hard to cut a piece of sheet metal to a sharp corner without it curling so this would do that and leave it nice and flat.
