It *is* a cat. Not even dwarf bunnies (which this thing couldn't be at that size) have ears that small or that shape.
Either that, or for some reason someone cropped the rabbit's ears...

WIW! The first picture must have been taken at quite an angle to obscure *those* ears! The first one looks like a cat

Second pic is much better! I thought the first one was a chipmunk with a fat butt.

Looking down at a wild rabbit, you don't want those ears to show, the color blends with the color on top of its head- that way hawks have a tougher time seeing those dead-give-away ears.
If you look at the second pic you'll see a brownish patch on the rabbit's shoulders- it helps hide the ears when they are back.

Well.... if I were the kind to start trouble, I'd tell that bunny what you folks have been saying about her.

If you were going to start trouble, you'd take her to the White House.

And boy would that cat like to get out there.
Used to have an old cat next door and he would come over and try to catch our squirrels. One day we were feeding them and the cat jumped up on the porch rail and all the squirrels scattered except this one old grey male who was missing and ear and most of his tail.
He just sat there eating his peanut.
That should have told the cat something - but - it pounced on the old male. There was this little tornado with puffs of white anmd grey fur coming out that spun across the porch and last we saw the cat was headed for home but it was dragging the squirrel that was not quite through chewing on it's butt. I had no idea that a squirrel could be so nasty.

That cat has no front claws and is neutered. I don't know why he would want to go anywhere !!!
I think the rabbit might even get the better of him !!

"I think the rabbit might even get the better of him !!"
From my experiences with rabbits, you are correct!
I've had them as pets most of my life.
I have also had cats.
The first time one of my rabbits met up with one of my cats, I feared for the rabbit. Before I could really do anything, my cat jumped on the rabbit...the rabbit rolled and began to use those hind legs like jack hammers (not to mention those claws)! It also emitted that really awful, high pitched sound they can make. That poor cat let out a cry for help that could be heard a block and tried his best to run away, but "Fluffy" was obviously not through, so the race was on. It then became apparent I had to rescue that cat! From then on, whenever Fluffy was out (aka: Killer Bunny), my poor cat "Morris" would run and hide. He was really terrified of that furry little creature!
From your first picture, I thought it was a squirrel. One who was missing his tail! I didn't see those ears either! Good thing I'm not a hungry hawk eh?
