While I do feel that the government has no business whatsoever dictating who of legal age can marry whom or whom others of legal, concenting age, that institution best being left to religons who wish to define its meaning for their followers.
On the other hand, I am not in favor of anyone being forced to enter any marraige arrangement of any sort against their will. Being forced into a marriage as described in that article is nothing more than slavery and the government has the moral authority at that point to step in.

If the government does not enforce age of consent laws, do you think religions will do a good job of it ? After all, this is a religion condoning 13 year olds marrying.

If you are asking me, REAMOND, about whether the force of government should be used to enforce existing state and federal age requirement laws for entering into a contract of that nature, of course they should interfere! No person of such a young age could be reasonably said to be competant to enter into any kind of a contract, let alone one of such a serious nature.
