Here's a VERY serious topic for your consideration........

What's the worst thing you've ever tasted ever?

For me, it was Milk of Magnesia....the worst, most vile thing invented. Worse than Buckleys!!

El Condor Tequila. I bought a bottle of it for a party to use in the sunrises, saving the Cuervo for shots. Should've got another bottle of Jose; it was the worst $5 I never spent. Closer examination showed it was bottled in Baltimore. I'm pretty sure they shipped it into the harbor in some kind of tanker, and bottled half as tequila, half as paint thinner.

KRS,

Surely you are joking.... please!!!

My worst has to be lebrew (native indian icecream)... made from bear berries, whipped with sugar, still the most bitter taste imaginable. Sure looks good though - like jello and whipped cream.

Some weird things my DIL puts in some of her Asian dishs.

Once we went to this Indonesian restaurant in San Francisco. She kept raveing about this drink she said was like a milkshake. I think it's made with avocado, and coconut milk. I love avocado's so I thought I'd give it a try. It was the sweetest, ickiest thing I've ever tasted!

NyQuil liquid.

I can remember when I was little .... deciding whether I was sick enough to endure that medicine.

YUK!

Some sort of fermented cabbage product bought from an oriental market as a culinary experiment. Either Chinese or Korean, came in a ceramic pot sealed with wax, I think. Perhaps I forgot to fold in the cat paws before I tasted it?

Boiled okra is pretty bad, too, but this was way worse.

Kim chi. Great stuff.
...which should give a baseline on just how bad the El Condor was.

I've gotta agree with MrsSantaClaus - Nyquil liquid. I STILL have to decide whether I'm sick enough to endure it!

Brussel Sprouts. And to add insult to injury, they stink up the entire house they're cooked in--for several days afterwards.

Cauliflower with catsup. It was an accident.

But that's tied with the barium stuff one must drink before an exam. I can get about a third of the container down before I start heaving.

And if I even imagine someone is eyeing my paws, there's gonna be a MAJOR rumble around here.

ProudCanuck: I've had a similar treat, only it's called "Eskimo Ice Cream" in Alaska. The natives make it with whipped Crisco, berries, and sugar. That's not bad.....the dried beaver was a little hard to take. Don't even ask about "Stink Fish"!

(Okay, since you asked.....stink fish is fish put in a jar, buried in the ground for a few weeks, dug up, and YUMMY! (not!)

Anyone here watch "Iron Chef"? The ingredient of the day recently was "cod fish roe".....only they were getting the "roe" out of male cod fish.....I don't know exactly what it was but BLECH!

A horrible smelling gelatinous glob. Before that, it was cod which was marinated in lye. Norwegians consider it a national delicacy. I consider it an abomination and a reason to wonder about marrying into the tom's family...

I tried to find a picture of the stuff but apparently no one has the nerve to photograph the glop. However, here's an anecdote: http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~atman/ic/lutefisk.html

Baluts. A fertilized duck or chicken egg which has been buried in the sand for 100 days. They actually eat these things in the Philippines. Kim Chee on the other hand is pretty good.
