We are all hearing about shortages to expect, and sacrifices to make. But I wonder just what those shortages will be, and how we will handle them. We are a generation that has always had everything handed to us. We may have to sit in line, but we get our gas. We expect priority to be there in 2 days, we expect fresh veggies at the market. We demand our rights and say what we please, when and where we please. (AW is proof of that!)
What shortages to you expect? What will bother you the most-intangibles such as loss of security, or shortages of products, services, convenience?
My son is griping about the time it will take to get cleared to fly down here Thanksgiving. That doesn't bother me, and we are flying out of the country which will probably take even longer to get checked in. As long as the plane is safe, I don't mind, but he does.
My greatest fear is lack of access to my 3 children. They are all away at college, but right now we fly them all home, or go to see them, regularly. I am terrified of not being able to get to them quickly if they should need me. Childish and selfish, isn't it? But as a mother, I also want my not so little chicks right where I can take care of them.
