The roads out of the city still look open.

No, he said it might be.
"We absolutely have no credible evidence to substantiate any major threat on that date although it did raise some suspicion," one official said.

There is a building in Boston that is roughly 30 stories tall. You can see it in old episodes of "Cheers". There is an exact replica of that building in which I used to work in Toledo, OH (on the 25th floor). The thought of that building standing there so high in Boston, like a sitting duck, worries me. But on a Saturday I imagine it would be close to empty.

We have two towers that are the highlights of the skyline, the John Hancock building and the Prudential building. Both of them are around sixty floors or so, or slightly more than half the size of the WTC twin towers.
The John Hancock has a very popular observation deck on the top that has been perminantly closed because of the WTC. I'm not sure the status of the Prudential.
I would doubt that any attack on Boston would take the same form as the attack on the WTC.
The news people are all over this topic. Our governor just announced that she is leaving Boston for the weekend.

If there is an action somewhere I would really be surprised if it is the same airliner hijack method of the 11th. These people are evil but not totally stupid. They can use a bomb or chemical/bio. weapon just as well.

There was a press conference on the noon news with the mayor, police supt. and AG all stating there were no specific threats.
My home is at the base of one of Boston's tallest buildings and I am afraid.

Yes, the governor has a house which happens to be in a part of the state where you can't get any further away from Boston. She did announce that she would be leaving for that home this afternoon.
This is a governor that got some really bad press in the past for "escaping" while the people suffer. Thanksgiving (1999, IIRC), there was something really bad with the Pike (main route leading west from Boston), so she called out the state police helocopter to get her out of the city. Got really bad press out of it.
I don't think that many of the residents here in Mass will be surprised that at the first sign of danger she's high-tailing it out of the city.

Well, that certainly is a disgrace!...Guess she doesn't have any long term plans to remain governor past the next election, eh?..

She is generally clueless. Only reason she's the governor is because our real governor is now the embassador to Canada. Something about being governor of Mass makes people want to become embassadors.
