Am I the only one who thinks that an emergency landing and evacuation of an aircraft over finding one box cutter on a cart is a little extreme?
You would think it was a bag full if explosives with the required red LED flashing down to zero.
We have all read about the people testing security and getting arrested for taking box cutters through so -- wake up folks. You better learn to deal with having a lousy box cutter on board and learn if anyone threatens you with one to jam the sucker far enough north it will take a surgical team to recover it at the next landing.
I have been attacked with a knive and cut before and I will assure you if you get the guy down and kick him for about a half hour until he stops even twitching and is as limp as a sack of old rags he will be just fine to fly safely as far as you want. If you get tired and your foot is sore assign a couple other passengers to keep kicking him until you are rested. It especialy helps to hold on to one wrist with both hands while kicking as he won't keep bouncing away and it makes sure the arm is not obstructing your access to all the ribs. If the flight is to New Zealand fine. He should be well tenderized by the time you get there. They can do ID from DNA they scrape off the shoes.
