As much as we are told to go about our normal daily lives, I think that's impossible. What was normal before isn't anymore!

I was wondering if there are places that you are avoiding? I won't go on bridges. Especially the Bay Bridge which connects San Francisco and Oakland.

Also, what do you think would be the next most likely target or any place you think the terrorists would know would hurt us the most either in loss of lives or economically.

I worry about places like Disneyland, and other places of fun. One, because these people don't think anything should be enjoyed. Two, because so many people are there, especially kids. They don't seem to care if children die, and losing our kids would be certainly be devastating.

Sporting events...

Just be thankful that they did not choose a "sunday" and hit a bunch of stadiums at one time.

I give up deliteful what is Area 51?

Chococake I am not using the Bay Bridge either (but I then, I live on the East Coast

I wouldn't go to a Disney theme park because of all that has been said. I am not in a hurry to fly across country and definitely not planning a trip abroad.

I think outdoor stadium events are somewhat worriesome, but thankfully full fledged sports fans will probably not be held back.

Yes things are different.

My husband and I are HUGE Chicago Bears fans and usually go to a game every season. We are just a little too nervous to go this year....

I'm trying not to panic (some in my family are stocking up on canned food, etc.), but I also have my daughters to think about. It stinks that they can have this effect on our lives; but it's not a chance I'm willing to take.

Zilvy - yep, us full-fledged sports fans are being held back!

Zilvy,

You know "Area 51" that is where we keep all the space aliens and top secret stuff.

In all seriousness, I worry about places like Hoover Dam. I definately would not live downstream of any dam.

I really don't see any purpose in worrying. I'm serious. There is absolutely no way to protect ourselves from every eventuality. So why ruin the quality of our lives by constant fretting? Live for today...yada yada...

I am staying out of anywhere that the air is held in like Malls amd subways. I think if there is a chemical or bio attack that is the ideal enviroment.
Also staying off of the mall in front of the capital because it is so symbolic. I love to visit the various buildings of the Smithsonian.
You don't have to get me to stay away from amusement parks because I don't like them anyway.

But if I don't worry, then I'll have to go scrub the toilet.

I worry that I'll get so hung up in reading posts here and elsewhere that i'll not hear the timer ding that's timing my lemon bars. I want to have some lovely sweets in case the news gets even worse.

I'm going about my regulate routine, but my regular routine isn't much to worry about. Do my shopping, go to auctions, work my flea markets. I've actually been leary of the Bay Bridge since the earthquake

I'm trying to imagine what the terrorists think are good targets. They sure were right with their first strike. They have been living in our country, and learning where our weaknesses are. They lived in small communities with people that trusted them. I'm sure they listened intently when people spoke of their fears and joys, gathering as much information as possible to use against us.

Julie,

Start perking the coffee. I'll be there in a few minutes.

I'm with my bud, Shosh.

Maybe it's because I have a fatalistic viewpoint. When my time comes, it's going to come no matter where I am or what I'm doing. I've always felt this way.

Well I for one am not going to change a darn thing.
If I go I go.
I went to an Astros game when they started back up playing and I admit I was a little nervous when they opened the roof. I pictured a plane flying in once or twice.
But then I said the H . E . double hocky sticks with that. I'm not giving those creeps any more power over my life than they have already had.I have been sick lately but I am pretending I'm not (shhh don't tell anyone).
It seems to be working. I acomplished more this week than I have in months and I'm feeling better every day.
I will cross bridges and enter large buildings and go to sporting events (just purchased two tickets to a cowboy game for my husbands christmas present [ don't even ask how much] } and I will live my life exactly as I always did.
I will honor those that died by making sure those slimey low lifes do not alter this americans way of life which was what they intended to do.
God will either protect me or welcome me home.Either way (to quote a phrase I usually hate)"It's all good"

Well then, before we "go", here is a big pot of Mocha Java with an endless supply of extra large mugs....Grab one, everyone...To Life! Here, Femme have a lemon bar...

Très Chocolat...I must say I was a little...shy crossing that Bay Bridge also, for a while. When it happened, I was in Berkeley, surrounded by BRICK buildings...I had a choice of standing againt one of them or lie flat on the ground in the middle of the street..I chose the latter and did not get hit by a car...THAT was a miracle...

Shosh, I would have been right next to you on the street . I have never liked crossing the Bay Bridge. I don't know what it is I just don't like it. The Golden Gate doesn't bother me at all. Funny, if any bridge were to be hit I think it would the GG, because it's like a symbol.

My grandson goes to preschool three days a week, so the following day after the attack, he went to school as usual. Less then half the kids were there. We couldn't see keeping him home. Why? He loves school, he's only three and didn't know what was happening. I'll bet the kids that were kept home were being exposed to the news on television, which to me was far worse.

y'know, gravid, the one thing 'round The Mall I'm most concerned about is the front gallery at Air and Space (aka, for folks outside the area, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum). One hit takes out the Wright Flyer, the Spirt of St. Louis, and the Apollo 11 command module. If you want to hit symbols of US achievement, that's hard to beat.

I know what you mean. It would be like losing the dish your great great grandmother brought on the covered wagon. No replacing them.
