I suspected as much...
Moderators I believe that you still have time to moderate Antiquary. He is a slacker and let RL interfere with his duties as an EVIL-DOER today at RT. He needs to be moderated not only for having a RL but for brazenly bragging about the fact that he hs one!!!

Antiquary, I don't know about Helen but I hereby relinquish all moderator duties... As of this moment, tag - you're it.
I should warn you it is truly an exhausting and thankless job. I've checked my Paypal account numerous times today and there's yet to be a payment processed. That's gratitude for ya. Also, just a word from the wise(r) - don't try to moderate with a theme. It doesn't work. You ask for something as simple as alphabetization of the threads and you get all kinds of grief. I was somewhat heartened to see an unusual number of A threads toward the top but it never really took off in the way I'd envisioned.
One more thing. You may want to recruit a tag-team moderator. This is too much for one person to handle. If not for Helen picking up my slack I'd have been fired hours ago.
Good luck! And, not to be outsucked-up by the rest of them... I think you're way far handsomer than any of them do.
Not paranoid anywhere else but here!

My ISP cut me off before I had a chance to reply. I forget that they officially schedule 2 hours maintenance Sunday nights since they rarely have to use that time.
But back to professional chitchat. Yes, I appreciated very much your efforts to bring some semblance of sequential order to the chaos of the board. The job is taxing enough without having to deal with the disconcerting problems associated with the willy nilly thread order. Certainly the necessity of an organized thread order has to be instilled in each poster until it becomes second nature. Then we can move on to the still more challenging task of regulating the order of the posts within the thread. This was addressed at the last meeting of IAM (International Association of Moderators), as well as Punctuation Intervention, both very trendy now.
No Paypal receipts? That's discouraging but I think that it's probably only reflective of the current times. We'll all have to just hang in there.
