Christmas is coming up soon. Do you have a favorite Christmas or holiday song?

Mine is Joy to the World. I'd love to spread a little joy around for the next week or two. I mean, couldn't we all use a little more joy in our lives?

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah to all.

Me

O Holy Night
That's my favorite although I can never hit the really high notes.

I love O Holy Night, too. When I was a kid I liked O Tannenbaum

LOL I loved Oh Tannenbaum! I sang it in German too!

I also favor "What child is this" [tune of Greensleeves]

I do love Christmas music!

Greensleeves was written by Henry the 8th I think. Pretty song.

Oh yeah we had to sing O Tannenbaum in German too... can't remember it now though.

You're putting me in the mood to go wrap some presents with Christmas music on...

Yes Helen, I love "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" I have that one on tape as well!

I have so many tapes/cds. Arron Neville had a great Christmas tape out. I love his voice.

Rawbunzel, if you haven't seen A Christmas Story, RENT IT! It's one of the best/funniest Christmas movies ever made and the particular scene I referred to above occurs after the Bumpus Hounds have purloined the family's turkey and they are forced to go out to eat. The only place open on Christmas is a Chinese restaurant...

Althought I'm not very religious now, I still remember and enjoy Oh Little Town of Bethelehem , Silent Night, Adeste Fideles and It came upon the Midnight Clear that I learned when I was a child.

I agree, Helen. I'm not a religious person either, but the songs I remember hearing sung in church when I was young are still my favorite Christmas songs.

Let's not forget "Good king Wenselas" [now I know I spelled that wrong!]

When we were young they had a huge wooden Christmas tree set up at the Northgate mall. All the Girl Scout and Brownie troops sang there . I was in that tree more than one year! Was a lot of fun and I still have my song book. A really good Christmas memory.

I have an idea -- let's all go a-caroling on other boards

Which board do you want to start at?Better be a good choice because I think once they hear us they'll bar the doors! I sing alto but I want to sing soprano.

" Here we go a caroling so fair as to be seen and here we go a wandering ...blah blah blah blah blah blah..." I have got to go pull out my old caroling book.

plsmith LOL your the second person who mentioned that to me today.

If we sing really REALLY loud we might drown out any arguments and besides, they can get mad at our singing instead of each other.

Um, I have to be awake for this though right? I can't sing in my sleep. hell I can't sing good anyway. I'm dying to catch some sleep tonight.

Wellll, I think it'd be only fair to stop in and hum a few bars for Barry (yeah, he'll let us in) Barris then maybe onto r0ss to spread some much-needed cheer and then if we are in the mood for the nasty version of Silent Night we can end up at this place

Anyone game?

Links to other places? This sure isn't your father's RT anymore!

Pat I think we should surprise them and not go to each one on the same night. It should be like a sneak guerrila attack when they least expect it. One board per night.

Ah, heck, Enchanted, I thought that was the one idea I could call my very own. I try to have one original thought per year.
If ya want to stay awake, just imagine what it'd really be like to have Twinsoft in bed with you. (hahaha, I hope Gaffan and Krs are lurking!)

Well, everyone else has disappeared so I guess tonight isn't going to be the night we go as a "gang".

boo-hoo...

Yes, but not tonight. Tonight I am supposed to be decorating my tree.

Barry would let us in. He likes Christmas and Ross is always the gracious host. The last place ...well, they like everybody over there so I know we would get a warm welcome.

You'll have to let me know the logistics. I can't figure out how they can hear us actually singing??? I just know they'll all want to hear.
LaLaLaLaMeMeMeMeMe...just warming up...

Oh dear. I didn't realize we were going as a "gang". That does put a different spin on it.Couldn't we be a "troop" instead? You know, like the scouts?

Plsmith, you are heartless. Trying to make me sick with envy talking about my little pooter in bed with Enchanted.

hahaha, just keep to the MeMeMe's over at AC and you'll be fine! There is the weirdest contretemps going on over there right now -- I doubt we could sing above it but we could definitely add a few lyrics

Yank the balls off Twin and Sneaky,
fa la la la la, la-la la-la.
Hep-burn has become quite cheeky,
fa la la la la, la-la la-la.
Don we now asbestos apparel,
fa-la-la la-la-la la la la.
Yes, I post this at great peril,
fa-la-la-la-la la la la la.

feel free to add your own verse...
