That's a good one Antiquary!! Shock value is quickly becoming a thing of the past, isn't it? I remember when I was in highschool, if anyone said the f-word, it was like they were on the same level as a criminal or prostitute. Nowadays, if you hear anyone say the f-word, they sound foolish because it's so passe. I can't think of anything that would shock me anymore, can you?... especially someone giving me the finger or swearing.

I've been out shoveling snow. I guess it was our turn again, over a foot. Beautiful storm though.
neonmania (I like that ID, btw), the sheer absurd appropriateness of the act as metaphor for the current fad in trying to understand and solve domestic and foreign problems struck me as very funny.

I agree that language as shock value doesn't work anymore for the majority of people and its correspondent extreme in political rhetoric is also beginning to lose its effectiveness, I think.
