Here's the problem, everytime I save a photograph into the "my pictures" folder, it also adds that picture into the wallpaper inventory. I'd rather not have a list of 1000s of potential wallpapers every time I go into desktop properties.
I'm assuming that this is peculiar to the "my pictures" folder because if I save to another folder this doesn't happen.
Anyone know the fix?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately you will need to move the pictures you don't want available for wallpaper into another directory out of the "My Pictures" folder.

I use "my pictures" and I don't have this problem. So, there must be a solution.
Could the answer be found in My Pictures folder options? Be sure that under "view" you have checked "show and manage the pair as a single file."

Helen, do you have active Desktop turned on?
Do you use a background other than the ones that came with the computer?

OK, Twelvepole,
I see what you are talking about now.
Photo's in the "My Picture" program are all wallpaper now. LOL!
What geek is responsible for that screw up???

Guess MS thought they were doing us a "Favor" by making them accessible for wallpaper...not knowing about online sellers LOL

Fenix 03,
Cute quip.
In all reality, for some of us, the answer about Mac vs PC comes down to software support and/or availability. Regionally, I'm over 300 miles from any decent Mac support. Local eggspurts just don't, and won't support Mac.
Too, there is a lot of proprietary, i.e., job-specific software that is written only for PC, and unfortunately both my job and personal interests make heavy demands on such software.
Every time I buy a new computer I have to ask myself why Jobs and Wozniak couldn't have been a wee bit more open with licensing and development codes. Shame really.

Twelvepole,
Thanks for the tip. Moving the pics indeed took them off the wallpaper list.
Again, MS makes another well meaning but ill researched decision concerning how real people use computers.
