Although I am a Democrat, I am not fond of Dean. In some respects he is more to the right than president Bush. He has been caught in numerous lies (thank you, Dennis) and tries to sneak out the back door when confronted by them. Like I said in a previous post, he is the Republican choice for president should Bush not be re-elected.

I don't like our current president or his administration. That I have not kept a secret. It's also a not a secret that I don't want him to be re-elected. At the same time, my gut instincts tell me Dean would be worse. Those supporting him are urged to really take a serious look at who he is.

Funny Cheryl, How you overlook the socialistic tendencies of "Dennis"... we have nothing to fear from him... President Bush will be reelected for more YEARS!

You are already proving that the Dems can't even back one person and when Nader syphons off more the vote... well Happy Days will still be here.

Ah, you underestimate Dennis and the people who are supporting him. And, it's growing every day at a faster rate than any one of the Democratic hopefuls. Does it frighten you that the grassroots movement is taking on steam? Does it frighten you that people are tired of a capitalistic society where only the wealthy have a say? Does it bother you that the farmers of this country are tired of being squashed under the capitalistic machine? Is Dennis' stand on the preservation of American ideals sending you looking for cover? Let's not forget saving the environment. Are you afraid you'll have one less sheet of paper in which to write your garbage? Good. Better find that rock now and dig under it.

People are finally sick and tired of a society where they have no say. They are tired of the lies and the deceit. They want to take their country back from the corporate bigwigs who have bought the White House. What have you got against peace?

I have nothing agains peace, a peace brought forth by letting potential enemies that we will squash them like a bug, if they dare attack our citizens here on our shores.
Not a peace brought forth by someone too weak to protect our citizens.

However, these capitalists that you talk about are the backbone of the American way, not some socialistic pipe dream, in which it does not reward those for hard work.

That is the problem with socialistic societies, the inclination to work hard for what you want and for creativity and innovation goes south... there is no reason for it, everything is handed out to you.

No Cheryl, I don't fear... I am sickend by all this "My government owes me" attitudes.

What happens when Gore throws his hat into the ring?

He is still on the cusp, last I heard, but was leaning toward running again... too many people not enough vote...

The economy is showing little by little improvement, by Q4 it could be greatly improved... President Bush will have done this...He will get reelected.

Gore? Sorry, as much a Democrat as I am, I would not vote for him. He lost the last election by neglecting key states such as Ohio. He was lazy in his approach for the presidency. Plus, he's been out of the spotlight for three years. What has he done for the betterment of this country in the last three years?

Just one of Dean's lies:

On Meet the Press: “The way to balance the budget, [Gov. Howard] Dean said, is for Congress to cut Social Security, move the retirement age to 70, cut defense, Medicare and veterans pensions, while the states cut almost everything else. ‘It would be tough but we could do it,’ he said.”

At the AFL-CIO Debate:

In arguing for his own position of returning the age to 65 at the nationally-televised forum, Kucinich noted that "Mr. Dean has said that he'd move the retirement age to 68. One time, he talked about moving it to 70."

A few minutes later, Dean simply offered a broad denial: "I have never favored a Social Security retirement age of 70. Nor do I favor one of 68."

How soon we forget our own words.

The transcript from Meet the Press can be found here. Interesting indeed:

I disagree. I think he lost the election because he and the democratic party underestimated the maturity of the american public and the popularity of CLinton. They were so afraid of Gore somehow being tainted by the Clinton scandal that they turned their back on the strongest tool they had. Had Gore utilized CLinton on the campaign instead of giving him a tanks but no thanks he would have had much greater success but he didn't and a lot of people had to question why, if he was so great for the job, his boss of 8 years was not in front of every camera and at ever campaign stop along the way saying so.

Gore may never recover politically from his refusal to run on Clinton's very strong record. I agree with you, Fenix. Gore lost the election when he chose to distance himself from Clinton. And now, we are headed down a right wing hell hole.

Any one of the leading Democratic contenders will be far superior to George Bush.
