Hi, about a month ago I dropped out of site almost in mid post. Back in 2001 I was hospitalized and recieved a liver transplant. Since then things had been going well until just after Thanksgiving. I've been hospitalized since the begining of December and putting up one heck of a fight. <New Yorkers do not quit> Got ahold of a laptop and wanted to wish all a Happy New Year and belated holiday greetings
and of course must use my sig line

Yes you cannot live without a liver. They can be trnsplanted, I was transplanted in June 2001.
I have just been relisted as a candidate for a liver/kidney transplant. I need to maintain my strength to survive the surgery. Would have replied sooner but was running a high fever which has been figured out now.
I'll drop by in a few days, I've been avoiding politics and focusing on myself.

Great!!! I don't think that we realize how stressful politics can be. Someone else who has been sick said that she could only "read" here 2 or 3 days because of the stress.
Take care!

It's good to hear from you again, davebraun!
Your post makes me wonder if more people are becoming donors now that there's more awareness of people needing transplants? Has anyone here signed a donor card?

I have Krafty. Maybe it's because I grew up around hospitals but I have carried an organ donor card since I first heard of the programs as a teen. Actually my family is too. There is a standing order among us all - complete organ donation (eyes and internals) and then cremation.
Wishing you nothing but good things Dave.
