In his memoirs, "A World Transformed," written five years ago,
George Bush Sr. wrote the following to explain why he didn't go after
Saddam Hussein at the end of the Gulf War.
"Trying to eliminate Saddam...would have incurred incalculable human
and political costs. Apprehending him was probably impossible.... We
would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq....
There was no viable "exit strategy" we could see, violating another of
our principles. Furthermore, we had been consciously trying to set a
pattern for handling aggression in the post-Cold War world. Going in
and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the United Nations'
mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response
to aggression that we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion
route, the United States coul d conceivably still be an occupying power
in a bitterly hostile land."
If only his son could read.

Daddy Bush needs to take his a$$hole son to the wood shed and either beat some sense into him or beat the non-sense out of him.

Real fathers and sons don't engage in foreplay, Reamond. Do tell us more, how WAS your relationship with your father? Did he voice approval of this sort of violence? Why do you say this is the appropriate response if you disagree with a youngsters actions? I can sense 'issues' here that you should deal with.

How can you say the war in Iraq was the result of what happened on 9/11 when there is proof Bush started planning the war well before 9/11. He just used 9/11 as his excuse for going to war. If 9/11 did not happen the war would have still occurred.

Yes, bunni, exactly what I was pointing out. It's that ol' double standard again.
I'm not to do so, but lefties are allowed to without being reminded how many things have changed in those passing years since Bush1 made those decisions.
