In this country now, it is becoming more apparent that it is not really democrat vs republican in a politic sense of those words... today it has become the have nots vs the haves...
the haves work hard, get educated and try to better themselves, they use government resources for their betterment, not as some continual payout. They believe in a strong US and could care less what the rest of the world thinks... they plan for the future and strive for a retirement that is not dependent upon more government handouts to survive, but just a supplement for all the hard years of work. They live comfortably and in small measures do help their fellow man to better themselves, not free handouts on a continual basis.
the have nots on the other hand can be educated, but do not use that education for the betterment of anyone, just use to try to get a bigger payout from our governement... they are lazy, unambitious, not willing to put forth the effort the haves put forth to better themselves... expect government handouts from the cradle to the grave...also wants the government to take more from the haves because they realize through their own neglect the haves really do have more... so in nothing but childish jealousy they expect the government to take more from the haves and give it to the have nots... most are ignorant of true Christian fundamentals but insist that being a good Christian is giving to something to someone every day of the year... not educating them to better themselves so they can make more and become a have. No they will piss and moan... scream that the government is not doing enough for them, scream they lost their over inflated wage job and not really do anything to better themselves... the have nots have lost foresight and ambition...and are more and more turning to communistic and socialist ideals... something the haves are against with good reason... that is not what this country is based on.
If they really think that kerry will change them from a have not to a have just by this election, they are the ones blinded by more hatred than the claim the haves have....
Government should not be there for free handouts for a continuous basis... short term help, yes... kerry will not be their savior... but is laughable to see them think so.

What a fairy tale. There is more government resources spent on corporate welfare and corporate theft than we have ever spent on welfare to ease human suffering and provide opportunity.
We are still paying off the Savings and Loan theft from the 1980s in which Bush's brother was directly involved.
We will be paying for the Enron, WorldCom, and Haliburton and all the other corporate theft and welfare for years to come.
The private sector has a record far worse than any government program.

That is why they join the military and then expect the government to provide for them because they served their country. Boo hoo I am a veteran, please pay for my education and my medical bills. I deserve more respect than I get....

I agree, twelve. Most government programs were put in place to help the truly needed....for a short time...to get on their feet. But what most have become is a 'free handout' and millions have learned to play the system for all they can get.
Then the liberals don't appear to think people should take personal responsibility for the decisions they make...the actions they take and we should all feel so sorry for them and pay for THEIR wrong choices ourselves. They have had the same opportunities the rest of us have had...those who are able to take care of ourselves...made different life choices and have lived the 'American Dream'.
I agree we are sliding more and more into a socialist nation, led by the likes of kerry and crew. And I have great trouble understanding why people are encouraged to become MORE dependent on government handouts...rather than encouraged to make more sensible life decisions.
So...instead of encouraging people to become self-reliant they encourage more government programs so they get more people voting for their party to continue the benefits 'government' can pay out...continue with the re-distribution of income. Heck they even hold the position that those who come here illegally are the responsibility of those who have worked hard all their lives. They're entitled to our benefits...because they chose to break our laws.
