How can anyone wonder why Bush spent seven minutes talking to children in a classroom after learning of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks? He was just sitting there looking like a deer caught in headlights? The answer to this. His script wasn't handed to him, that's why. He's incapable of responding without a scriptwriter. That's why there's never press conferences. One thing that's improved over the past few years -- he's improved his reading skills.
I wonder what President Roosevelt did when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Do you think that he spent 7 minutes continually engaged in what he was doing? Or do you think that he dropped it and started to take action to protect our country?

Certainly not you! If they were from you, they would usually not be more than one sentence, and make not a lot of sense either.

Kerry did want any other ordinary citizen could do during that time.
Bush was the President, the leader of this country. He choose to do nothing but continue to read to the school kids. People look to their leader to act and give direction during a crisis.
