Just had to get this one in. Does it surprise anyone???? Just more dirty politics.
Bush, his family have many ties to Swift Boat vets
Some who now rip Kerry previously praised him

The veterans' group behind the controversial TV ads that question Sen. John Kerry’s Vietnam war record has extensive ties to President Bush and his family, other high-profile Texas politicians and Bush’s chief political aide — ties that have raised questions about possible illegal coordination between Bush’s re-election campaign and the group.
Described as a “web of connections,” the links between the Bushes and the group were detailed in a Friday piece in the New York Times that also listed inconsistencies in some of the veterans' own public statements on their regard for Kerry.

So, now a legal complaint has been filed with the FEC against the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth by the Kerry campaign. That's JUST LIKE A LAWYER. Bet they were tickled pink by Michael Moores's compilation of innuendo, but when the shoes on the other foot, sue, sue, sue! Let 'Get Me Out of Nam' Kerry and 'Trial Lawyer Stepnfetch' Edwards get in and ad nauseum for at least four years. It's been said before about liberals; they can give it' but they can's take it.
Kerry: "Wah, mommmy, Bushie said bad things about me!"
Bush: "That tree-hugging wacko said bad things about me first!"
Kerry: "Nyaa nyaa, prove it!"
Guess which side I'll vote for. Neither is that impressive.

Today the FEC said the rules governing 527's is going to be changed...but not until 2005.
I love these statements from the article.
kerry saying: "Well, if he wants to have a debate about our service in Vietnam, here is my answer: Bring it on,"...LOL Just using another Bush statement that the dems so opposed went Bush said it..."it will just encouraging more violence."
Bush campaign spokesman Steve Schmidt said the charge that Bush was in league with the group criticizing Kerry's war record "is absolutely and completely false. The Bush campaign has never and will never question John Kerry's service in Vietnam." Which is true. No one can quote Bush saying anything about kerry's sorry war records. This group is no different than kerry's 527s and and all the negative things they've said about this President.
But the Bush campaign has, in fact, refused to specifically disavow the Swift Boat veteran's ad.
Why should he? It's called freedom of speech....still a guaranteed right in this country. Is this what kerry's done all along with what HIS 527 supports have said? NO!!
.....aides privately acknowledged that they and their boss had been slow to recognize the damage being done to his political standing.
Oh like all the negative ads, etc moveon.org and Soros money were paying for was helping Bush's poll numbers?
Both men say the other served honorably,
So there should be no problem then. kerry should call of all his lawyers that worked to silence this group.
but their supporters are pouring tens of thousands of dollars into television ads and other tactics to insist otherwise. With kerry's 527 donors side having spent over $100,000,000. Now they're whining because ONE group is saying they want the public to hear how they saw kerry's actions.
It also asks the president to denounce an ad that aired early this month by the Swift Boat veterans.
This is the real funny part. Bush should denounce the vets....but kerry won't denounce his 527 supporters and what they've said. Sure...that sounds fair...NOT!!!
Kerry's valorous combat experience is a cornerstone of his campaign.
That's right he has used his 4 month service in VN for most of his political career. Now he's using it to show what a strong President he'll be. But others think and see it differently...and they have a right to say so.
Kerry's supporters are just going to have to recognize and accept that fact. Obviously all the lawyers kerry used to keep them quiet...weren't able to do so. They're letters to he news stations informing them they should spread the SwiftBoat vets story either...is beginning to fall apart now.
John Kerry fought back against an attack on his Vietnam record Thursday, accusing President Bush of using a group of Vietnam veterans to do his "dirty work."
No different than what kerry's 527's and those who support him have been doing. Keeps the candidate looking 'clean and civil'....while their supporters have done all they can to smear this President.
Why can't the lefties here see it's the exact same thing? It was okay when done to President Bush...but somehow it's different now that it's being directed towards kerry?

NBC now thats a convencing source. Can you say mega-liberal news rag. And the basis of the supposed link is because Kerry says Bush
broke the law in TV ad dispute.
Cheryl, have I told you I have a bridge for sale the Bill Clinton once walked across. Price is cheap.

I don't know about you all, but I, for one am sick of the "he said, she said" on both sides of the camp.. I am looking forward to the debates. By then, hopefully, all the lies and truths will be on the table. I'd like to hear the issues, rather than getting distorted history lessons on their service records.
I think this gutter politics has got way out of hand...the media and the mudruckers (is that a word?) are running the campaigns..
It's just about enough to turn everyone off of the whole process.. how can Americans be proud of either candidate, when they are being portrayed as liars, thieves, deserters, idiots and the like.. it's enough to sicken your stomach..

Dr.D - I'd like to hear the issues.
So would I, but so many questions kerry gets ask he won't answer.
Like on most everything he's been critical about President Bush doing....when asked what he'd do - instead- if elected....he doesn't want to say.
He won't answer how he's going to pay for all the programs he's promising every special interest group.
He won't answer how he's going to get the countries he calls allies, like France and Germany, to help in Iraq...but he promises he will do so.
He won't say how he's going to get us out of Iraq....but flips between saying they need MORE troops and then saying he's going to have the troops there home asap.
He says [basically] if we're attacked he'll defend this Nation of ours....but only with the approval of the UN. Then he says he'd go it alone if need be. And he says he'll bring respect back to America...how? by siding with those countries who would like to see us destroyed? I suppose you've read where he's said if he's elected he plans to travel to all the countries Bush has alienated...and get in their good graces. Like with whom? Syria, Iran, etc? He won't say.
He's pretty much ran his whole campaign, to this point, as one that opposes everything President Bush has done....but has not stated exactly what he WILL do. His platform appears to me to be one of 'I'll tell you AFTER I'm elected'.
So how can we discuss the issues? The left can't really debate his positions...I don't think they know what they are.
He speaks about doing a better at getting more American's employed but doesn't present a workable solution.
He changes his mind or holds all different positions on so many issues....how can we discuss it? We don't really know what
