We have a new super Kroger just round the corner,it has been in existance for 3 months now.
It is renting out storefronts in their complex for 2300 a month and slowly but surely they are being rented to mostly minorities and immigrants who come here to pursue a dream,a dream we heard many times-that the streets are paved with gold and they shall own big houses and send their children to our school if they work hard.
of course it does not hurt if they bring some capital along from their old country or work menial jobs after they arrive and scrapped and saved to come up with the capital.
Todate,i am proud to report the following-
a drycleaner ,the 8th one run by an indian family.
A video rental store,also the 8th run by another indian family.
A coffee shop features donuts,coffee and fruit drinks run by a vietnamese family.
A subway sandwich franchise run by black american.
A mail drop off store run by some indian.
A nail salon run by vietnamese
A hairsalon ,dunno who runs it yet??
A liquor store run by black american.
While all you pristine americans are debating high politics and healthcare and who makes a better first lady,these immigrant minorities are putting their money where their mouth is,they are putting in relentless hours and creating jobs outside their family.
Do they worry about prescription medicine or affordable healthcare??
NO,THEY ARE TOO STUPID TO KNOW,they only know how to dryclean your dirty clothes,make a low carb sandwich,or apply nail polish on your fingers and toes so you can run around in capri and sandals and buy all that junks made in China,another minority population willing to work for 5 cents an hour.
So,go ahead,indulge yourself and show what a true american you are,it is in your constitutional rights to discuss politics,save the world and blow hot air.
YEAH,HOT AIR is what we produce these days,soon the entire GDP of this country will comprise of HOT AIR.

i am not a republican,i am not a democrat either.
trying to come up with an affordable healthcare system is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
the democrats try it,the republicans try it,now some of us wish the democrats will try it again.
The only way to fix it is either like nancy reagon said-dont get sick OR
dont invent any new drug or techniques,we will just take our 2 aspirins and go to bed.

Well, I'm so glad to see Vietnamese, East indians, and other minority immigrants are working harder than WE Pristine Americans who have what ? ....just sat on our asses for the last 300 years !!!!
Skin color , country of origin, or ethnic background does NOT guarantee a person is a hard worker!
I have worked with many different nationalities and they are PEOPLE...some hard workers, some so-so and some just plain bone lazy!!!!!
Have you heard the term "melting pot" ??????
For hundreds of years people have come to America...Chinese, Germans, Italians, Greeks, British, Slavs, Irish, Scandinavians, Russians, and more and
THEY
HAVE WORKED THEIR ASSES OFF to build this country.
Hard work ain't NOTHIN' NEW HERE, buddy!!!!!!!!
And we have EARNED the right and EARNED the freedom to say anything we want about this country.
People who shoot their fat mouths off and say so pompously "this is the greatest country in the world" better use that big mouth to make some changes before that phrase is a TOTAL lie!

And there should be a DIFFERENCE between hard work and slavery and the difference is getting smaller all the time!

stopwhining, I agree with what you are saying. When you put it in perspective. These immigrants whether they be chinese, vietiamese, indian or whichever, have an entirely different work ethic than what most americans now do. The shops I see them running and working in they put in long hours and pool their resources. They do for themselves. A lot of americans are spoiled, materialistic whinners that all they have is never enough; and they can't even summon up the grace to appreciate what they do have!
I posted in another thread: say one thing you are grateful for, thankful for, glad of... It appears nobody could muster that to the forefront of their consciousness. Why? Is it just so much easier to complain all the time and concentrate on whats wrong than on whats alright?
