The U.S. has really vamped up the B.C. border because reportedly, that's where all the terrorists get through to get to the U.S. The terrorists in this case are pot smugglers which are now termed as a "form of terrorism".

The U.S. is the world's heaviest consumer of marijuana and gets a whopping 5% from Canada, yet the U.S. is spending millions to protect you from us. I mean, what next?

Terror Heat From The Frozen North.....since 1998 [and even before then] the easy border crossings has been seen as presenting a danger.

What was once termed a nuisance is now called terrorism. I wonder which word has more impact with voters? (Wolf! Wolf!)

Well..I'd say that guy who came through Canada with the explosives meant for blowing up LAX would certainly be classifed a terrorists.

And I believe there were three others who came through Canada too...but I don't have time right now to search it out.

Linda, I'm talking about "pot terrorists", not the real ones. That's the point I'm making - if you start calling everyone and their uncle terrorists (like calling drunk drivers road terrorists the word becomes useless. Using this word to describe other groups makes your government look like they know they've hit a gold mine and are using it to gather in the sheep for election purposes. If I came to your house and smoked you up, I would be the same as one of the 911 bombers in your administration's eyes. Seriously, how ridiculous is this all going to get?

Oops - that smiley wasn't meant to be there.

So then...just WHO called pot sellers terrorists? You weren't clear on that.

Since you haven't been clear on who or what you're referring to....if my government caught drug dealers...that's good. And terrorism is a real threat to our nation....wheather you Canadians believe it is or not. It will be even IF kerry is elected. It's not going to go away by 'sweet, sensistive, talking' to the terrorists.

Linda, your government is saying that pot smuggled into the U.S. from Canada is a form of terrorism. If that's true, then what does your government call it's own citizens who smoke pot? It ludicrous!

KD - You still have said WHO made that statement....saying 'my government' did is just a little to vague.

You don't only easily welcome American's..your country had some really lax immigrations politicies until after 9-11...when through pressure from the US your country made a ton of changes on it's policies. One's meant to cut down on terrorists entering the US from your country.

But won't that look good for Bush? If they catch 20 guys bringing B.C. Bud across the line then he can say that they caught 20 more terrorists coming out of Canada. There may be no distinction and some people believe whatever they hear from their government without checking out the facts for themselves.

LoL DrDolittle - yes, hide your kids from us!

Exactly Kiara! And as a tax payer, which would you rather spend your hard earned money on? A nuisance or a terrorist? The mileage gained from this word is wearing thin, which is good news to the real terrorists.

Linda, do you mean what person said this? I have no idea - it was on CNN.

I guess if they're caught smuggling pot they are charged under the terrorism act.

THE TERRORISTS ARE COMING! THE POT-SMUGGLING TERRORISTS ARE COMING!

I'd much rather my terrorists smoked pot! I can't think of a single killing done by someone smoking pot. (Unlike other drugs and alcohol.) The only thing potheads want to attack is a bag of Fritos.

A little herbal prozac never killed anyone.

Pot dealers apparently are terrorists. Ashcroft promised us that non-terrorists had nothing to fear from the "Patriot" Act. This act will little by little be used for much more than the "war on terror".This is clipped from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer:

The U.S. attorney in Seattle has used a Patriot Act provision to charge 15 people with smuggling marijuana money out of this country as part of a multimillion-dollar drug operation based in Canada. It is the first time the provision has been used in a major case in this district, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Greenberg. The indictments say an undercover agent spent nearly a year working with the alleged smugglers, accused of helping to deliver $3.4 million illegally into Canada in 2003. The money came from the sale of marijuana in the states, Greenberg said.

The 15 each were charged under the Patriot Act with one count of bulk-cash smuggling. Nine others were charged earlier with international money laundering and marijuana trafficking under a separate law. It has long been illegal to take more than $10,000 out of the country without reporting it. But the Patriot Act strengthened that law and "took it out of just being a reporting violation to be a smuggling, trafficking type of offense," Greenberg said. The crime carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and the forfeiture of the illegally transported money.

Good idea Twelve! You should just kill the people you don't like. You could become a vigilante and save the U.S. from pot smokers and homos. Maybe Bush will give you a badge or something, and if that fails, at least you know you'd be doing God's work.

I agree, Kraft. They should just kill 'em all. After all, that potent B.C. Bud is one of the best on the market and could be classified as a WOMD.

They've got a Blackhawk helicopter here now too so they should be able to pick them off pretty easy.

Take no prisoners, homeland security is doing a great job.
