One of The Poodle's biggest talking points on Iraq is this notion that once he gets elected president (God I hope not,) he will be able to pick up the telephone and somehow "bring the world together" over Iraq, so that other countries will send troops to Iraq. At that point in sKerry's fairy tale, he can then bring the troops home. A real miracle worker, that John Kerry is, isn't he? Well not really.

First. let's take a look at Germany. "I cannot imagine that there will be any change in our decision not to send troops, whoever becomes president," said Gert Weisskirchen, foreign policy expert for Germany's ruling party. Well that's not nice, is it? What about the Kerry magic? Can't we get a deal...from one appeaser to another? Guess not. According to reports, German officials actually hope Bush is reelected, because it would be easier to turn him down on Iraq than it would be The Poodle.

France shot the idea down even more harshly. French foreign minister Michel Barnier said no troops will be sent, "either now or later." An unnamed French official put it this way: "People don't expect that much would change under a Kerry administration, even if things can only get better. We do not anticipate a sudden honeymoon in the event Kerry replaces Bush." In other words, The Poodle is out of luck. What about the mythical "foreign leaders" that supported him? Where are those troops?

If France, Germany (or Russia for that matter,) were ever going to send troops to Iraq, they would have done it already. The Axis of Weasels isn't going to help America just because The Soufflé is parked in the Oval Office.

Hey Kim, Bush supporters forget that people are voting for a lot more then just the Bush/Cheney failures in Iraq. Think about the other Bush/Cheney failures like record high gas cost, higher health cost, another million people without health insurance, lost jobs, record bankruptcies, a million more people in poverty. I could go on but I sure don't need to. My point is Bush/Cheney are failures.

Well first you misrepresent what Kerry has said.

Kerry did not say that he absolutely could convince France and Germany to put troops in Iraq. And so far that is all France and Germany have said they will not do when Kerry is elected.

Kerry said that there are a variety of things that other countries could do to help.

One option is to have France and Germany train Iraqi police and military in Europe.

You have to pay attention to what Kerry says. He is not an addle brain like Bush who just throws out sound bites for the simple minded voter.

The Axis of Weasels

Just love the forward thinking around here. If you need a partner in this venture you do not treat them like they should kowtow to you.

kimlittle - You are so right. IF kerry had countries willing to support us....they already would be doing so - or he'd be mentioning them. Since he first made that announcement of getting more allied help...the countries have one-by-one been denying they're going to help at all..no matter who is elected. kerry isn't going to get additional help...and that's why no leftie here is able to say just who THEY think might help in Iraq I asked trai last night who he thought might help us....NO ANSWER....there are none, other than those already helping us out.

And look at Spain and a couple of other small allies of the 'willing'. The terrorists have forced them to back out of promised help in Iraq. They don't want bombing in their country like Spain had...no they do/have done as the terrorists tell them to. Stop helping.
------------------

One option is to have France and Germany train Iraqi police and military in Europe.

Nope. France, Germany, Belgium and Spain have already said they will not help train Iraqi forces. NATO will be training them. And both France and Germany fought NATO supporters doing so. They're were adamantly against ANY NATO forces doing this and have held the process up with their objections for way too long already. Both countries have fought the U.S. tooth and nail. Old Europe is no longer our allies....but new Europe is a lot more willing to help. They just don't have much ability to do so.
=----------

And another point I'd like to make is the left always saying 'kerry's going to do this - kerry's going to do that' - when most of the time what kerry's saying he's GOING to do....is already being done by the Bush administration. If you guys would ever read 'both' sides...you'd see it much more clearly. kerry has few 'ideas' that either haven't already been suggested or are already in place.

One simply needs to understand what is at stake in Iraq. Three little letters.... OIL. The one thing the Bush Administration has succeeded in doing is making sure that only American Corporations have their hand in the cookie jar. Sure, there are a handful of International corporations in Iraq, but guess who is subcontracting them? American businesses like Haliburton.

There isn't one person in the world that could convince France, Germany, Russia, or whatever other country to back America unless we offer something in return. Bush has made it very clear he has no intentions to seek assistance from other countries. His speech to the UN was a clear indication as to how he wants to tiptoe through the elementary school idea of "sharing". Sharing, which is not in Bush's vocabulary means that all participants share in the wealth and in the burden. It doesn't really take much more than a 3rd grade intellect to understand that.

Such BULL!

If that was the case we'd be hauling it in by now.
And prices would be dropping.

That's a lie. They have only stated they will not put troops in Iraq.

If that was the case we'd be hauling it in by now.

You ought to watch the news or read a newspaper. the reason we are not "hauling it in" is because the Iraqis keep blowing up the pipelines and terminals.

dadofstickboy- you really aren't all that intelligent to think this isn't to the greatest degree about oil. perhaps you could shed some light as to what this is about then?

it sure wasn't about WMD's and the threat to America that Iraq was. There were no WMD's, the UN inspectors had full cooperation with Iraq before Bush attacked. Bush saw the iminent threat to the lies and coverups that his entire family has with the Saudi's. He knew Hussein was cooperating, and all reports from UN inspectors showed Iraq was telling the truth regarding WMDs. The UN inspectors found some conventional weapons that flew 15 miles over their sanctioned limit, and Iraq destroyed them without any resistence. Bush was scared that Hussein was gaining allies because he didn't have what the Bush Admin claimed. This tactic was also used by Bush Sr. when he knew his ties to Manuel Noreiga were in jeopardy. The Bush family are crooks, liars, cheats, and will do anything to control the worlds oil and power.

A report today was released citing that the Bush Administration and CIA were in discussions regarding rigging the Iraqi elections. I am anxious to see where this leads. It may be nothing, or it may once again prove how this Administration has done nothing but deceive the world.

CNN took poles in a lot of countries. Their findings were 30 out of 35 countries wants Kerry not Bush to win this election. If Kerry wins we can expect help from other countries if Bush wins we can expect more of the same. We all know how good more of the same is with over 1050 dead American troops with over 7,000 wounded

Linda_K please go to the Doctors. You do need help, your very delusional.

kimlittle, little do you know that the republicans are saying us Americans have to live in a changing world globalization they call it. Hence the outsourcing of American jobs. So people like you that speak with a forked tongue come along. You like globalization when it fits you needs and don't like it when it doesn't. Sorry you don't like the fact that 30 out of 35 other nations want Bush out. What people like you must decide is if you want America to continual to fall behind many countries in the world. Under the failed leaders Bush/Cheney that is what America is doing falling behind. If you want a better America then you should vote for change.

I see that England is making great strides forward in stem cell research. While under our failed leaders the U.S. Doctors are falling way behind in finding ways to help millions of sick people. Why so Bush gets the vote of the religious right and millions of people remain sick or dying. If this one example of many is the kind of America you want, an America that is falling behind, then vote for Bush and that is what you will get.

If you want America to regain its prominence in the world and work with other world leaders that are so much smarter than Bush then you should vote for change. Kerry will be able to deal with other leaders much better than Bush can. American will continual to fall behind with 4 more years of Bush/Cheney.

When I was a young man its was WAR to stop the spread of Communism. Now after we lost thousands of good young American lives in Viet Nam. Thirty five years later U.S. corporations are having the Communist world build our sneakers. What a Dam loss of fine Americans lives and Iraq is Viet Nam all over again step by step.

You can call me all the names you want but you can't change the facts about the failed American leaders Bush/Cheney. You also can't change the parallels between Viet Nam and Iraq.

Just a little tip. There was outsourcing during the Clinton term as well. It all started when he signed NAFTA. Most of the jobs are over paid union workers. They ran their own jobs out of this country.

1. The recession started before Bush took office

2. The computer & dot-com bubble already burst.

3. A little event happened on 9-11 that screwed the travel industry along with several others.

But I am sure all 3 were Bush's fault even though all 3 were in motion BEFORE he took office. You liberals cry about everything. It does not matter if everything went the way you wanted you would still hate Bush.

When are you going to blame him for the hurricanes in Florida?

Shhhhhhh better to keep quiet about Florida, that's the October surprise that they are allways talking about. Bush has commited billions of dollars to Florida for disaster relief. You just wait and see, eventually they will get around to saying that Bush is trying to buy votes there.
