My neighbours across the street have a wonderful, large pond with a big willow tree on an island in the middle. It's wonderful! It's the only good watering hole around for the animals and is home to many fish, turtles, chipmunks, etc.
All morning, there have been dump trucks coming and going and I just realized they're filling in the pond. I feel so bad for all the wildlife and so mad at their stupidity. JERKS!!!!!!

I agree that it is stupid...
Could it have something to do with homeowners insurance? Anymore, they'll drop you for having a large breed dog, a trampoline, a swimming pool, living in Florida.....the list is endless.

Thankfully, property rights keep the liberal knee-jerks from telling us what we can do with our property. Maybe you should check and see if they have filed an Environmental Impact Report. Seriously. They might as well learn the dance in dealing with environmental wackos from the comfort of their own home.

Best to just walk across the street and ask your neighbors why they are filling in the pond.
Then come back and fill us in.

Sorry for the rant.
It's just a shame. They probably have a good reason and I know it's none of my business but I feel for the critters that have lived there for so long - they're all under gravel now.
