"As best I could make out, John Kerry proposed to better wage this 'wrong war at the wrong time in the wrong place.'
He would do it by forging a broader and effective 'coalition of the bribed, the coerced, the bought and extorted.'
The senator would have removed the threat of Saddam Hussein without removing Saddam Hussein, who represented no real threat.
When he wasn't demanding the troops be brought home from Iraq, Mr. Kerry was urging more of them be sent. Our troops, who are engaged in a 'colossal error' and 'a grand diversion,' are not fighting in vain.
Out on the campaign trail, the senator may believe this administration 'has lied to us, they have misled us,' but he has never accused his opponent of lying. It was only when one listened to the senator's words closely that questions arose.
If you just drifted along with him, it all sounded good enough for government work. Besides, he's a lot taller than the president."

Bush dropped the ball in finding Bin Laden, so I guess in this instance, he ran and remains hidden.....When are people going to wake up to that fact..

Kerry's not a patriot...he sided with our communist enemies during VN and he's now working against what's in America's best interests again.
Does he think the democratic party is a terrorist organization?"
I can only speak for myself, but reading some of the comments here from the progressives and ultra-lefties....I think they're VERY MUCH support our terrorist enemies.

What the hell is wrong with you ? Can’t you see what’s going on?!?! Wake up!!!
I mean, you've had to watch your scatter-brained nitwit of a candidate fraudulently steal an election.... botch everything in sight for 4 years,..... start a unjustified war,.... continually help his rich connected buddies,....... and constantly crap on the middle class.
He’s covering-up questionable energy deals..... grossly negligent security deficiencies...... hypocritical oil alliances..... and telling one outright, blatant, flagrant, sorry-ass, pathetically transparent lie after another, the mother of which costs American soldiers lives and chunks of your tax money every day of the week.
Since we lefties have always known BushCo is chock-full of cowardly draft-dodging Constitution-deprived traitors.....their behavior is not surprising to us. Bush and his cronies are un-American... greedy... hateful... lying... sniveling.... yellow-bellies.
You act like you are all hypnotized by the robotic, and repetitive Fox News mantras of "BushCo is great".... "Wars are wonderful" and... "We are fair and balanced?"
When did fanatic party loyalty become more important than ridding your country of an illegally appointed doofus who has screwed up the country and the world for the rest of your life as well as your children’s? Aren't we all Americans first and Republicans or Democrats second?
And you know, it doesn't really matter that we Democrats were right all along, from the very beginning, from the get-go. So they were after the oil..... So there never were any WMD...... So they lied about everything..... So thousands died..... I’m really not the type to say "I told you so".......

Tell all that to the team you support...kerry/edwards...they too voted for the war. Just didn't vote to support our troops.
How nice and comforting it must be for the lefties to forget every statement kerry made on just why we needed to remove saddam from power...just what a threat he'd been, according to kerry - FOR YEARS.
Pretty hard to overlook all the changes in positions your candidate has taken....but you all do it oh-so-very-well.

kerry's been confused since he first voted to give war powers to President Bush. He praised the success after we had invaded and taken over. Only when things turned rough did your 'hero' start changing his stories...and changing them...and changing them until he even had his own party confused as to what he'd REALLY do about Iraq. And this is the supposed leader the lefties want to see as CIC? That's good for a real deep belly laugh.
And I'm sure anyone who'd like to see how kerry voted, during the clinton administration's Liberation of Iraq Act can see for themselves that bill called for removing saddam and it made regime change our US policy.
-----------------
At the very least I'd think the liberals could be honest and just admit that they want Bush out period...rather than try to pretend their candidate didn't really want to remove saddam from power...like kerry said he did for close to 14 years.
Kerry Supported War In IraqKerry Voted For Iraq War Resolution. (H.J. Res. 114, CQ Vote #237: Passed 77-23: R 48-1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, Kerry Voted Yea)
Kerry Agreed With Removing Saddam Hussein. "I agree completely with this Administration's goal of a regime change in Iraq; Saddam Hussein is a renegade and outlaw who turned his back on the tough conditions of his surrender put in place by the United Nations in 1991."¯ (Senator John Kerry, Speech To The 2002 DLC National Conversation, New York, NY, 7/29/02)
And Said We Should Spend What It Takes To Win¦
Kerry: We Should Increase Funding To Iraq By Whatever Number Of Billions Of Dollars It Takes To Win.
MR. RUSSERT: Do you believe that we should reduce funding that we are now providing for the operation in Iraq?¯
SEN. KERRY: No. I think we should increase it.
MR. RUSSERT: Increase funding?
SEN. KERRY: Yes.¯
MR. RUSSERT: By how much?
SEN. KERRY: By whatever number of billions of dollars it takes to win. It is critical that the United States of America be successful in Iraq, Tim.... (NBC's Meet The Press,¯ 8/31/03)
But Kerry Turned Around And Voted Against Funding For Our Troops
Kerry Voted Against Senate Passage Of Iraq/Afghanistan Reconstruction Package.(S. 1689, CQ Vote #400: Passed 87-12: R 50-0; D 37-11; I 0-1, 10/17/03, Kerry Voted Nay)
Kerry Has Been Incoherent, Inconsistent On Iraq
Mort Kondracke: Kerry Confusion Over Iraq Leaves Americans Trusting Bush.
Democratic nominee John Kerry's harsh new attacks on President Bush's Iraq policy beg a vital unanswered question: OK, Mr. Kerry, what would you do? Kerry has been all over the place on the Iraq war-so much so that we can't be sure whether he would have fought it in the first place (probably not) and whether his future strategy rests on winning the conflict or getting U.S. troops out as quickly as possible. ...
What's missing from Kerry's speeches is any declaration that 'we've got to win this war or we'll stay until we prevail.' Americans may be dubious about whether the Iraq war was worth it - but they certainly don't want to lose it. That's why they trust Bush more than Kerry. (Morton Kondracke, Op-Ed, Confusion Reigns About What Kerry Would Do In Iraq,¯ Roll Call, 9/13/04)
The New York Times Editorial Board: Kerry Acceptance Speech Provided No Clear Vision On Iraq.¯ [Kerry] did not, however, provide a clear vision on Iraq. Voters needed to hear him say that he understands, in retrospect, that his vote to give President Bush Congressional support to invade was a mistake. It's clear now that Mr. Kerry isn't going to go there, and it's a shame. (Editorial, John Kerry Says, The New York Times, 7/30/04)
The Washington Post Editorial Board: Kerry Offered No Praise For Liberation Of Iraq, Afghanistan. He offered not a word to celebrate the freeing of Afghans from the Taliban, or Iraqis from Saddam Hussein, and not a word about helping either nation toward democracy. (Editorial, Missed Opportunity,¯ The Washington Post, 7/30/04)
Even Kerry Supporter Radio Host Don Imus Said I Don't Know What He's Talking About On Iraq. Every time John Kerry brings up the Iraq debate, another debate ensues between his aides and Republicans whether he has changed positions. This time, however, even Kerry supporter Don Imus expressed confusion. "Not under the current circumstances, no, there are none that I see, Mr. Kerry said, though he continued to defend his 2002 vote to authorize possible military action. "I was just back in my office banging my head on the jukebox, Mr. Imus said. :This is my candidate, and...I don't know what he's talking about.¯ (David Jackson, Kerry's Iraq War Comments Leave Backer Imus Confused,¯ Dallas Morning News, 9/16/04)
Democrats Including Kerry Have Said World Is Safer After Liberating Iraq
Senator John Kerry Said People Who Believe America Isn't Safer With Saddam Out Of Power Shouldn't Be President.
SENATOR JOHN KERRY: "Those who doubted whether Iraq or the world would be better off without Saddam Hussein and those who believe today that we are not safer with his capture don't have the judgment to be president or the credibility to be elected president of the United States.¯ (ABC's This Week, 12/21/03)
Even Before Iraq War, Sen. John Edwards (D-NC) Said World Would Be Safer Without Saddam. "Make no mistake, Saddam Hussein alone has chosen war over peace," said [John] Edwards. "He has defied international law rather than disarm his weapons of mass destruction. Our world will be safer when he has gone."¯ (US Congress Closes Ranks Behind US Troops,¯ Agence France Presse, 3/20/03)
Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT) Said If Saddam Hussein Was Still In Control, World Would Be Much More Dangerous Place. SENATOR JOE LIEBERMAN: The fact is that if Howard Dean had his way, Saddam Hussein would still be in power today, not in prison. And the world would be a much more dangerous place. (CNN's Wolf Blitzer Reports,¯ 12/14/03)
Former President Clinton Defended Bush And Blair's Liberation Of Iraq As Keeping World Safe From Chemical And Biological Weapons.
Even former President Bill Clinton, in London to promote his book, launched a defense Wednesday of Blair's case for going to war. "You can second-guess Blair if you like," Clinton told BBC radio. "But at the time, nearly everybody thought there was probably a stock of chemical and biological weapons there and that it was vulnerable to falling into the wrong hands."¯ (Shelley Emling, Report Calls Pre-War Intelligence "Seriously Flawed", Cox News Service, 7/14/04)
Rep. Dick Gephardt (D-MO): How Can Anyone Believe America Is Safer With Saddam In Power? "How can anybody say we're safer with Saddam Hussein in the world?" said Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri, who said Dean's "wrong-headed" statement was evidence of the difficulty he would have in a general election. (John Whitesides, 3 Democratic Rivals Rough Up Dean,¯ Orlando Sentinel, 12/17/03)
After Saddam Hussein's Capture, General Wesley Clark Said "The World Is A Safer And Better Place Now That He Is In Custody." ¯ (Read Democratic Candidates Statements On Saddam's Capture,¯ The Wichita Eagle, 12/15/03
---------------------
So, my recommendation to all would be to follow kerry's advice...
"[i]Those who doubted whether Iraq or the world would be better off without Saddam Hussein and those who believe today that we are not safer with his capture don't have the judgment to be president or the credibility to be elected president of the United States."
...don't vote for him he doesn't have the judgment to be president nor the credibility to be elected president of the U.S.
IN HIS OWN WORDS....
I'm telling you this guy is VERY confused, has taken all sides of this war issue and is not fit to be CIC of our great Nation when we are at war with the terrorists. He was already willing to offer Iran the fuel they needed to build their own WOMD program. Scary.....very scary are his ways of dealing with what he NOW calls and considers terrorism "a nuisance."

The reward of a re-election for a 2nd term, or the punishment of voting out the President, is a strong motivator to hold a Presidential administration to responsible behavior and to push a President to be accountable.
However, this administration is already shown an extreme disregard towards being held accountable for anything, while taking credit for anything it can at the same time.
Also, this administration has already shown an extremely irresponsible track record, on a great many issues, especially one of the most irresponsibly rushed executions of American power in modern history .. Iraq.
President Bush himself, can't think of any mistakes that he has made. If he refuses to acknowledge or realize his mistakes ... in the face of undisputed & documented errors of large scale, then this is consistent with a personality of irresponsibility and a ducking of accountability.
This administration has reversed itself on many issues. They were against the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. They were against the 911 Commission. In the case of the 911 Commission, this administration was probably very wary of any independent body of authority, coming close to investigating its actions. In these cases, protests and the potential negative political impacts pushed this administration to reverse itself.
If President Bush is re-elected to a 2nd term, there would be little incentive left to hold them accountable at all. When there is already a record of such irresponsibility and a lack of accountability, then it is logically predictable to deduce that the 2nd term would be filled with even greater recklessness, a greater disregard for self-investigation, a continued tension with the rest of the world, and a more partisan & brusque attitude towards all dissenters.
Would there be any changes in Bush Jr.'s cabinet for a 2nd term?
Some people have said that Colin Powell won't be part of a 2nd term. If that is so, then it probably make a 2nd potential Bush term, even more extreme. Colin Powell has been mature and moderating influence and a lone in-fighter in the cabinet for positively engaging the UN and the World. If he is out, then a 2nd potential Bush term could emerge to be even more unilateral, and less diplomatic.
Then consider the Right-Wing's disdain for considering the "War on Terror" as mainly, but not exclusively, a global law enforcement effort. The only implied alternative is a policy relying on global military war as the main solution, accompanied by the need for a draft.
