... people from the U.S. are flocking to buy their drugs in Canada. From an article I read... you pay double or more for most drugs in the U.S. The most widely used drugs are the ones that are most expensive, even though they are only reformulations of old drugs. The total spent on research for these big companies was a whopping 14%. When a new drug is introduced, it's almost always based on publically funded research. Their major output is not innovative drugs, but minor variations of top-selling drugs. They do it because it's easy and lucrative and they can get away with it. They manipulate consumers by turning ordinary concerns into medical conditions such as "erectile dysfunction". They're promoting the "disease", trying to convince men that anything less than 110% performance requires treatment.
As far as Washington goes, this industry has more than 600 lobbyists. They demand and get all sorts of favours, such as the provision in the recent Medicare prescription drug benefit that Medicare would not bargain for lower prices.

My mother gets a prescription from Walgreen's with her copay of $20.00. The label on the bottle says "you save $163.00." Meaning, the actual price of the prescription is $185 for a SINGLE month's supply.
She had me look up a website for her just last night. The SAME prescription from Canada was $178 for a THREE month supply. It was even less if you trust medicine from India.
She doesn't need to do it now because of the insurance, but may lose her insurance in January.

Anyone know if they are legit or not?

Replay, the drugs are exactly the same, just so you know. Because the Republicans are supported by these big drug companies, they have to do something to make it look like our drugs are inferior to protect their interests. What gets me, is that Canada is 1/10th the size of the U.S. and our drugs are cheaper. So if the U.S. consumes 10 times more pills than us (let's say), shouldn't the price be 10 times cheaper if they are working under supply and demand (which they're not)? These companies are nothing but 21st century drug lords, not companies that care about your welfare.

You would think the price would cheaper, but it is not the case. I definitely agree that the drug companies are out to screw the consumer. I am glad some of the politicians are starting to stand up to these drug companies.
Q. What's the difference between the Vietnam War and the Iraq War?
A. George W. Bush had a plan to get out of the Vietnam War.

True, but also keep in mind that in the US, the chances of a multibillion dollar lawsuit is greater as well.
What was the drug Merck put out that is getting all the publicity lately for being unsafe? I don't remeber the name. But situations like that is a big part of the reason drugs are more expensive here. The FDA approved the drug, so that should be the end of Merck's liability. They didn't know about those side effects.
Who do you suppose REALLY pays to settle those lawsuits. The customers. Class-action and liability lawsuits are getting to be just another form of taxation.
