I was wondering if any of you watched Meet the Press today with James Carville and his wife Mary Matalin?

If you did...what were your thoughts on what Carville said?

I like the part where he broke the raw egg on his face....AND wrote the $1,000.00 check for a bet he had made on the election.

I've always loved watching the two of them be interviewed together....and remain curious as to how they over come their complete political disagreements and still stay married. I think it's wonderful.

No I didn't see it. I had difficulity getting in the Packer game. There are some things more important, if you know what I mean. I wonder if the check was out of HIS bank account or a joint one they have.

Oh I wonder what the bet was but I can take a good guess and say the election.

Yes Linda, I have always wondered that myself. They both have high level jobs in their own party. But then again they are probably gone most of the time so they don't see one another often but often enough because not long ago she had a baby. Well maybe a year or so ago.

I didn't see todays show but I do love watching them together. I think they are a great example of two people that may disagree but at the heart of it all have a healthy respect for each other. A while back the was an episode that I think was on their daughters birthday and at the end of the show the girls were there and Russert was giving them gifts. The cool part was seeing their transition from political operatives to husband/wife/parents. In the blink of an eye they were just two loving parents sharing their girls birthday with an old friend.

Linda, I didnt see it but I would have liked to. He is an odd fellow. Been around for as long as I can remember, though,on the political scene. I think he's way too aggressive on crossfire,..but I do wonder how much of that gets done for show?

Maybe I'll catch the rerun if MTP does them.

I remember seeing them on Meet The Press another time. I think it was during the 2000 recount. Anyway, Mary was upset. She is very close to the first President Bush and can get emotional about things concerning him. During this interview, James was quiet and calm, which is rare. Near the end, Tim asked him about how they were handling the situation in their home. His answer was "It is hard. I'm trying to be a good husband and a good Democrat and it's hard." He showed a side of himself that is rarely seen. On TV at least.

Be kind. Everyone is fighting their own secret battles.

Did you see Carville on CNN around midnight Eastern Time the night of the election? He just sat there with his head hung down speechless. I have been watching him for many years & never seen him at a loss for words. It was quite funny. I am sure crowfarm was much the same way that night. I on the other hand looked like Jimmy Stewart at the end of ”It’s a wonderful life”

Kim - around midnight eastern time there was still great hope that Kerry was going to win as a result of what turned out to be quite faulty exit polls. I watched Carville much of that evening and don't recall ever seeing him at a loss for words. Sure that's not just wishful thinking?

My wife and I were out of the country over the election and all we could get on TV was CNN and Carville {ET Face} was at a loss for words much of the night. Larry King all but "cried" on the air. It was really a sad thing to see the lefties on CNN tring to hold a "pep rally" and there was nothing to cheer for. We could not wait to get home to watch FOX NEWS.

Fox was fun Boot - I was sure Brit Humes head was going to explode at several different points during the evening and apparently their bedtime came long before their curtain call that evening because they all went slap happy around 1am eastern (Hume a few hours earlier when he started making his own interview sound effects) and never really reeled it back in. It was like watching a Headline news taping live for 3 hours... they all just keep saying the same things over and over.

fenix03 It could have been later, hell that was 2 weeks ago. I was half asleep. It was around the time it was apparent Ohio was going Bush. But thanks for the smart a$$ remarks. Also what kind of idiot had "great hope"? He was never at any time leading in Florida or Ohio. He needed both to win. You were just fooling you self

Apparently I was not the only one you noticed him this way
BTW did you cry yourself to sleep that night? lol
